New Assassins Creed: Valhalla boss fight video leaked

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

A new video of Assassins Creed: Valhalla has surfaced in what could be deemed as the second such leak one day after the first footage had precipitated a rancorous response where members of Ubisoft’s development team were met with public anger on social media.

We have done an in-depth analysis of the first leak in a previous article.

The footage covers a boss fight between an NPC named Cordelia and the protagonist Eivor where the protagonist slays the former using a combination of special and regular attack moves. In a short exchange of dialogue between the two, before the initial battle, Eivor can be heard saying: “I will not be taken by a demon goddess.” So we can say that Cordelia is a powerful demon goddess. Cordelia also has quite a few special moves up her sleeves as she could be seen teleporting around the arena and raining a cascade of thunderbolts in a particular area around her.

There are a lot of noticeable improvements in the new video. Some of them are listed below:

  • The third-person camera is a lot closer to the character.
  • Facial and graphical detailing has gotten better.
  • Smooth, seamless animation and combat.

Some additional features were revealed in this leak:

  • A wheel menu with seven icons:
      • whistle
      • call mount
      • set bait (unconfirmed)
      • war horn/call allies (unconfirmed)
      • torch (unconfirmed)
      • meditate (unconfirmed)
      • stealth mode (unconfirmed)
  • A map of circa 870 England with certain areas marked on it:
      • East Anglia
      • East Mercia
      • West Mercia
  • An upgrade screen (that looks like the skill tree of Skyrim) where skills can be improved and new skills can be unlocked in exchange for skill points.
  • Inventory menu.

Assassins Creed: Valhalla is due for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X & Xbox One sometime during December 2020.
