Avatar: The Last Airbender finally gets an official trailer, giving fans a good look at the new Netflix’s live-action adaptation and a release date. The series is now building great anticipation after it was announced in 2018. As of late, the streamer has been dropping major details about it at the ongoing Geeked Week 2023 virtual event. As the new show, originally an animated fantasy series on Nickelodeon, is almost upon us, here’s what we know so far.
Avatar: The Last Airbender Official Trailer
A lot waited to see the new Avatar: The Last Airbender official trailer after Netflix announced its release at Geeked Week 2023 on Wednesday, November 8, along with a new poster that gave a first glimpse of Aang, Sokka, and Katara together with Appa and Momo.
Now, for the grand reveal, the over-one-minute trailer begins with foreboding music and drumbeats. “Time… Time is a funny thing,” a male’s voice says as the sound intensifies. “The past, the future, it all gets mixed up.”
From there, a montage of scenes featuring Zuko and Uncle Iroh is seen, followed by a great fire surrounding Fire Lord Ozai. A glimpse of Suki is revealed, walking in the middle of her fellow Kyoshi Warriors. “Always remember who you are,” the narrator continues.
The preview then fully shows Aang as he gets ready for action. A series of intense turn of events then begins, from the Air Nomads being wiped out to Zuko and Uncle Iroh’s side-by-side fight to Sokka and Katara’s scene together and more.
Of course, the trailer will not be complete without giving a good look at Aang’s loyal sky bison, Appa, as he emerges from the land and flies away with his friend, Sokka, and Katara on top of him. Momo, Aang’s beloved winged lemur, also appears and flies with them on the side. As the preview ends with this scenic scene, it’s time for the new adventure to begin on February 22, 2024.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Synopsis
Created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko and originally produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, Avatar: The Last Airbender follows the story of the young Avatar named Aang as he learns to master the elements of Water, Eart, Fire, and Air to restore the balance to the world threatened to be dominated by the evil Fire Nation.
Set in the Asian and Arctic-inspired world, it features some people who can telekinetically manipulate the four elements through bending, inspired by Chinese martial arts. However, only one can do this all: the Avatar, who also connects the physical and spirit worlds.

As the Avatar’s reincarnation, Aang, is about to begin his journey; he will get the help of his friends, Katara and Sokka, as they try to end the war that the Fire Nation has started against the other nations and defeat Fire Lord Ozai before it’s too late.
As Netflix’s recent live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece was a huge success, the same thing can hopefully be said for Avatar: The Last Airbender. If this happens, the streamer may have finally cured its live-action anime curse and may continue to adapt more successfully and critically acclaimed anime series.
