Good news to all anime fans, a new anime live-action is coming to Netflix! The anticipated live-action is set to be about the famous Japanese manga series called Yu Yu Hakusho. Moreover, Netflix has already started to reveal the cast of Yu Yu Hakusho’s live-action series.
On July 16, Netflix Anime posted a thread on Twitter that says to unveil the cast of Yu Yu Hakusho. The Twitter thread is going to reveal the cast day by day and now, we already got two of the cast members so far. Fans were surprised by this sudden cast announcement by Netflix and now, they look forward to the rest.
Meet the live-action cast of Yu Yu Hakusho
Introducing the first cast member revealed is Takumi Kitamura. He is a 24-year-old Japanese actor who is going to portray the iconic main character of Yusuke Urameshi.
The second cast revealed is Jun Shison, a 27-year-old Japanese actor. He is going to portray the beloved character, Kurama.
The third cast revealed to play Hiei is Kanata Hongo. He is a 31-year-old Japanese actor.
The last one revealed is the 30-year-old Japanese actor Shuhei Uesugi. He is going to play Kazuma Kuwabara.

What is the live-action synopsis of Yu Yu Hakusho?

“The manga revolves around Yusuke Urameshi, a junior high school student who spends his days getting into fights and dies in an accident while trying to protect a young child. As he grapples with the fact that he is looking down on his dead body, a woman named Botan, who calls herself a guide to the spirit world, relays to him the shocking truth: no one expected a delinquent like Yusuke to die performing an act of goodness, and there was no place for him in either heaven or hell. Thus, Yusuke is given a chance to be revived, and after passing his trial, he becomes an Underworld Detective. From there, Yusuke becomes entwined in a mystery that envelopes the human, demon,live-action and spirit worlds.”
When is the release date?
The first announcement of its live-action was way back in 2021. Alongside the announcement, it also revealed the release date which is on December 2023. It’s currently still in the works since until now, there’s no specific day yet in December next year.
