Netflix: Will A Documentary About The Killer Vlogger Happen? | Peter Keller Case Explained

In recent times, Netflix documentaries featuring true crime events have been one of the viewers’ most anticipated shows. A 2012 case, which some called the Killer Vlogger, has the potential to have a true crime series with the engagement it’s garnering at this time. This had us thinking: Will Netflix release a documentary about this Killer Vlogger mystery? In case you missed this horrifying news years ago, here’s what we got about the Peter Keller case, based on the documentary that has been circulating online.

A Killer Vlogger Netflix Documentary Could Happen But Still Uncertain

There is nothing but uncertainty if the Peter Keller case could be one of the next Netflix documentaries. However, with the popularity it’s gaining this time, there is a possibility that the streaming giant’s attention could divert to this horrendous 2012 case.

The Peter Keller case has been making rounds online after a YouTube channel, Explore With Us, focusing on true crime documentaries, posted a docu that shows the events that occurred way back in 2012. The Killer Vlogger became a hot topic, as some were shocked to hear it after over a decade, while others remembered this heinous act from way back.

Many commented on the video of the Explore With Us (EWU) YouTube channel, which consisted of the video with the details of what happened in the timeline of the crime. Viewers were saddened and shared that Keller’s wife and daughter did not deserve any of what had happened to them. Almost everyone who had seen them thought that the three were a great family, but it turned out something was wrong.

Meanwhile, others mentioned that he should have just set off to a different life — the life he wished for, and just left his family. He should have lived in Camp Keller the way he wanted to and did not bother harming his family.

Peter Keller’s behavior difference when he was with his family and alone in the woods was mind-boggling. He was able to keep a great family on the outside while he was struggling so much mentally. There are a few questions that perhaps a Netflix documentary could open and answer through a bunch of research and exclusives they could gather. It’s still bothering us to this date what was possibly going on in his mind for committing the crime instead of just running away from his family to live in survival mode.

The YouTube video from EWU included exclusive clips from Peter Keller’s vlog while he was building Camp Keller in the wilderness. This underground bunker was made from Keller’s ‘dream since he was a teen’ to live alone and his survival knowledge.

In his bunker, he stocked all the supplies and gears he needed to survive, even weapons and ammunition. In the vlogs obtained by EWU, he showed the ins and outs of Camp Keller, shared how he made it, and showed the process of building it.

Consequently, he had been living his ‘normal’ life with his family when he was out of the woods. Peter Keller supports his wife, Lynette, in her artistic hobbies and business and their daughter, Kaylene, who had just entered college at the time.

In Peter’s videos, he also shared how he was seemingly counting down to weeks before the unthinkable act and justifying the crime he was about to commit. “And then I’d think about it, and it would make sense,” he said. “And it’s like, ‘OK, this is what I gotta do.”

At the nearing end of the EWU documentary, it was about his planning to take the lives of his wife and daughter before fleeing to the hidden bunker. At the time of the crime, he committed arson as he set their whole home on fire, but what haunted the authorities was Lynette and their 18-year-old daughter had a gunshot wound that led to their passing, and Peter was nowhere to be found.

The assumed middle-aged man’s video tapes and photographs led the authorities to figure out where Camp Keller was located — the power lines and the North Bend mall gave them the idea of where he built the bunker. After weeks of being on the run, authorities found the bunker, and after almost a whole day surrounding it, the crime concluded in a violent way. Peter Keller took his own life before getting caught by the police.

In one of the videos he recorded, Peter shared that it was okay for him to take his life. “I do have my escape and that’s d*ath – can always sh*ot myself. And I’m OK with that.” According to EWU’s docu, the suspect may be suffering from a major depressive disorder that led him to continue and commit the gruesome crime.

With all the Netflix true crime documentaries being released, it’s not impossible for the streaming giant to produce one that tackles the Killer Vlogger. The Peter Keller case remains a chilling story of how someone can be perfectly normal on one side and completely different on the other. The story is something interesting for true crime enthusiasts, and Netflix could use that to share this mind-blowing story of Keller.
