NBA: Kevin Durant’s 25k Points Milestone

Kevin Durant takes another leap towards greatness with his latest achievement.

KD becomes the 23rd NBA player to reach the 25,000 point milestone in a game against the Boston Celtics on March 7. In his 37-point outing against Jayson Tatum and the Celtics, he also joins Dirk Nowitzki as the only two players to ever achieve 25,000 points, 5,000 rebounds, 1,000 steals, 1,000 blocks, and 1,000 3-pointers made.

This is just Kevin Durant’s second game back from a sprained MCL last January. Although he has suffered a lot of injuries in the past, he still plays at an elite level each night. This season, he is averaging 29.5 points, 5.8 assists, and 7.3 rebounds per game. He was also an MVP candidate before his injury.

Durant is a prolific scorer who can score everywhere on the floor.

  • At 6-foot-10, he is incredibly fast, agile, and has got the touch of a great shooter. He’s also a great defender which makes him a great athlete at both ends of the floor.
  • Aside from his rookie year, Kevin Durant has never averaged less than 25 points per game in a season. This just supports his case for being the “best scorer” in the league’s history.

“It’s pretty cool,” Durant told reporters after Sunday’s loss. “I should be at 30 [thousand] right now, to be honest.”

KD was out for almost two seasons when he tore his Achilles during the 2019 NBA finals. Kevin is still 33 years old and is still in his prime. If only he hasn’t had injuries in the past, he could have gotten more points by now.

At this rate, Kevin Durant is looking to push for the 30k milestone and will join legendary players like Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, and Wilt Chamberlain.
