As per Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA is lifting the 2-year ban for Tyreke Evans and is planning to reinstate him in the league. He was suspended from the league due to drug overuse back in 2019. NBA is very strict regarding the Anti-Drug Policy, and Tyreke isn’t the only one with this record (e.g. O.J. Mayo)
The last time Evans played in an NBA game was on April 21, 2019 (Indiana Pacers). It wasn’t necessarily his best season, but the season prior to his drug ban, he was a solid 20 PPG, who can shoot threes at an impressive 40% field goal.
Tyreke had an impressive start in his career.
Winning the Rookie of the Year in 2010, he was set as the future face of Sacramento King’s Basketball. During the 2017-2018 season, he managed to almost replicate his best season, his rookie year.
Rookie Season Average | ||||
PPG | APG | RPG | FG | 3P FG |
20.1 | 5.8 | 2.5 | 45.8% | 25.5% |

2017-2018 Average | ||||
PPG | APG | RPG | FG | 3P FG |
19.4 | 5.2 | 5.1 | 45% | 39.9% |
During his playing years (before he was suspended), he was a borderline all-star but isn’t consistent enough to become one. Tyreke is a wing player who can shoot threes, a typical skill in today’s era that is extremely useful in any team.
Tyreke is still 32 years old. He definitely still has some gas left in this tank and has still lots of skill to offer.
LIST OF TEAM’S THAT CAN SIGN EVANS
-
Los Angeles LakersÂ
The Lakers are still struggling even with the all-star trio of LeBron, Davis, and Russ. Rumors are spreading that the Lakers may be interested in Evans if ever he becomes available. He can be a great addition to the Laker’s 2nd unit.
-
Philadelphia 76ers
The Sixers are in need of reinforcement on their bench. With Tyreke being a reliable bucket-getter, it’s a good move if he gets signed to this team
-
Indiana Pacers
With the Pacers signing Lance Stephenson for the rest of the season, it’s unlikely they’ll sign Tyreke. Unless they make a move to ship Lance out, they’re a lock to sign Tyreke Evans.
-
Sacramento Kings
The Kings is where Evans started his career. It wouldn’t exactly be surprising, but them signing him would be nice. Sac-Town is really not looking good right now, since they look to be out of playoff contention. If they are looking to rebuild, then this might not be the best place for Tyreke.
