Real NBA fans remember the mid-2000s Phoenix Suns which was spearheaded by the two-time MVP and all-time great point guard, Steve Nash.
Nash played under the great basketball mind of Mike D’Antoni. He also shared the court alongside some of the greats in basketball history – Shawn Marion, Amare Stoudemire, and Joe Johnson.
In the 2004-2005 season, the team tied their best record in franchise history (similar to the 1992-1993 season), winning 62 games while losing only 20. The run-and-gun fast gameplay D’Antoni orchestrated for the Suns was phenomenal. He had his “seven seconds or less” rule which allows the team only 7 seconds to shoot the ball.
Today, after years of being the laughing stock of the NBA, Phoenix Suns is once again back on top. They are the best team in the league right now, sitting at the first seed in the loaded Western Conference (48-10).
Just last year, the Suns managed to slither their way to the NBA Finals against the eventual 2021 champions, the Milwaukee Bucks. This is their first finals appearance since Chuck Barkley’s Suns faced Michael Jordan and the Bulls in 1993. Fast forward to this season, they’re playing once again at an elite level of basketball.

Chris Paul, the “Point God”, is once again leading a group of young and highly talented athletes. CP3 has been the obvious leader of the Suns, as he pushes them again to another successful playoff run. Phoenix Suns could not be any happier with how their beloved team is performing now.
The future is looking bright for the organization with these all-star caliber youngsters.
- Devin Booker – The 25-year-old all-star shooting guard is playing like a superstar. For 4 straight years, he’s been a consistent 25 PPG scorer. He is a solid centerpiece and the cornerstone for the Suns since he was drafted.
- DeAndre Ayton – Ayton is one-hell-of an athlete. A great performer who can give you 16 points and 10 rebounds on a daily basis. He’s got the length and the size to match with some of the greatest big men in the NBA.
- Mikal Bridges – An excellent wing defender who also happens to be a frontrunner for the Defensive Player of the Year Award. He’s anchoring the Suns’ defense and is a nightmare to his opponents.

- Cameron Johnson – the 11th draft pick back in 2019 is a very reliable role player from the bench averaging 12 points and 4 rebounds a game.
- Jae Crowder & JaVale McGee – these two veterans aren’t young anymore, but they are the leaders who bring the best out of their teammates. They keep the team together, and both are the x-factor to this team’s success.
The Suns may have the best young core in the league today. Their chemistry is off the charts and they’re a team on a mission.
Currently having a record of 48-10, they have the chance to top their franchise win-loss record (62-20) this season. Even though Chris Paul is out due to a broken thumb, the team is still good enough to beat the best teams in the league. Compared to the success they’ve acquired last season, they now have a very high chance to win it all.
