What’s up Wordle fans!
The popular guessing game spinoffs just keep on coming and we are absolutely loving it! Even at the peak of the Wordle craze, we still want more of it!
Today, we will be featuring another Wordle clone for NBA and basketball fans called POELTL.
POELTL is an NBA Player guessing game named after the San Antonio Spurs big man, Jakob Poeltl. Published by web developer Gabe Danon, this spinoff was just released to the public yesterday (April 8).
It’s quite very similar to Wordle, but with a little bit of twist. Rather than guessing the usual 5-letter word, you will be trying your luck in guessing a current NBA player.
How do I play this game? (Game details)
- If you are an avid NBA fan, this would be a piece of cake for you. The game even gives you 8 guesses until you get the correct player.
- These are the hints that will be seen after each guess: Team, Conference, Division, Position, Height, Age, and Team Number.
- Similar to its predecessor, these colors will suggest if you are getting closer to the correct answer.
- Green box means you already guessed a certain category.
- Yellow box is an indication that you almost got it, but not quite. As shown above, the G (guard) in position could possibly mean that the mystery player is a cross between a Guard and Forward (G-F).
- The Grey Box on the other hand just means you are still very far from the answer.
Pro Tip/s:
- Start by guessing the correct Conference because it is easier to identify players that way. Other boxes will be your supporting hints later on.
- The game will only feature current NBA players. If you want to ace this game every day, we suggest looking at teams’ current rosters. You might want to check them here
- If ever you are having a difficult time guessing the mystery player, there is an option to enable the silhouette of the said athlete. But, where’s the fun in that?
