The Miami Heat wins the first game in the Eastern Conference finals against the undermanned Boston Celtics.
Miami Heat V.S. Boston Celtics Game 1 Summary
Coming into the third quarter, the game was actually very close. These two teams not giving up and constantly going back-and-forth in offense and defense. The Boston Celtics even led by as much as 10 points in the 2nd quarter. With his fantastic output, Jayson Tatum now really deserves to be called a superstar.
Unfortunately for the Celtics, Jimmy Butler went crazy in the second half. The defensive genius made a series of steals which put the Heat up 11 points. Everything went downhill for the C’s from there as the Heat continues to increase their lead up to 17 points. Miami held on to their lead and eventually beat Jayson Tatum and Boston Celtics, 118-107.

This series is a battle of the best defensive teams in the league. Both of these basketball clubs pride themselves on anchoring the defensive side of the ball. But, only one team must come out alive, and as the best defensive team in the NBA, Boston Celtics hold the higher ground against Miami. That is if they don’t get plagued by injuries.

- The Celtics definitely need the presence of 2022 Defensive Player of the Year, Marcus Smart, as well as the veteran center, Al Horford.
- Statistically, this game was a close matchup. But, what gave Miami the head start is their phenomenal defense and the steal sequence made by Butler.
- Boston Celtics need to put a stop to Jimmy Butler’s stellar playoff performance. Since the playoffs started, he has been a different beast. Going from a 21 PPG regular season to a 28 PPG postseason.

Their next matchup will be on May 19, 2022 (@ 8:30 PM). The Miami Heat will still host the Celtics in Game 2 in FTX Arena. This will surely be a long series.
