Since Chris Duarte is out and cannot play due to a toe injury, he will be replaced by the Warrior’s rookie Jonathan Kuminga.
On February 13, Duarte, the Indiana Pacers rookie went out of the game against the Timberwolves due to a possible injured toe after an awkward landing. Duarte would probably be out in two games, and will also be sidelined during the All-Star break. His return is still questionable, but the Pacers are giving him enough time for recovery.
Standing at 6 feet and 7 inches, the Congolese forward averages a pretty decent 8 points and 3 rebounds a night. He is also shooting an impressive 50% in the field while only playing 14 minutes a night.

Though his career averages are far from that of Duarte, he is slowly showing flashes of great talent in his recent games. In his past eight games, he’s been having an average of 15.2 points and is already receiving bigger playing time. He’s also getting touches to the ball more often. As a member of the Dubs organization, he most certainly will improve as a future star.
Let’s also recognize the strengths of Jonathan Kuminga, which he may offer to Team Payton during the game:

- Athletic small forward who can play the 4 (PF)
- Great shot selection
- Quick at his feet in driving to the basket
- Good post-up game
The New Clorox Rising Stars format

The league modified the game that showcased the young and bright talents of today. Previously, it was between two teams only – Team World vs Team USA. Now, it will be like a mini-tournament consisting of 4 teams. Team Payton (Gary Payton), Team Barry (Rick Barry), Team Isiah (Isiah Thomas), and Team Worthy (James Worthy).
The pool of players to be selected in these teams will be from 12 rookies, 12 sophomores, and 4 players from the G-League Ignite. The 19-year-old rookie from the Golden State Warriors will play for Team Payton in the Clorox Rising Stars Challenge during the All-Star Weekend.
