Movies To Watch For ‘The Last of Us’ Fans

The Last of Us has performed tremendously well since its release in 2013. This third-person game takes players into a post-apocalyptic world, where they travel in the US. Players have to defend against creatures and infected humans alike to survive the new world.

The game was received so well that there is a TV show based on it that is set to be released in 2023. To be honest, there have been a vast number of games in the same category, where a virus infection or an alien entity infects or destroys the planet. In each, we are told the story of a few survivors. But apart from this common theme, each game has its own story, characters, abilities and so many other things that make them unique. And The Last of Us is certainly a unique and special game.

Fans of this splendid game might want more of the same action or might just want to explore the genre. Or people might be new to the game or might have just heard about the upcoming show. That is why, in this article, we take you through a number of movies that are similar to the game, and might help understand the universe in which such games take place.

The Survivalist (2015)

Raiders, cannibals, starvation, everything tries to kill people in this world. Who is to survive in the end? Is there a safe place?

It Comes at Night (2017)

A psychological thriller, this one presents intense throughout the movie. Paul and his family live in their house on a pandemic-struck planet. People are dying everywhere, and it is basically every man for himself.

He is rescued by a couple of survivors, and they find from a broadcast that there is shelter. From here, the movie is a little bit more of conflict and escape.

A Quiet Place (2018)

Directed by John Krasinski, the movie tells the story of a family in a post-apocalyptic world with a minimal population. The world is full of monsters that are blind but have very good hearing. The parents find it difficult to raise their children in this world, where survival is a priority. They face casualties, make sacrifices, and more as they try to keep each other alive.

  1. for the movie 28 days later you accidentally put 2022 but actually came out in 2002. just thought u should know that haha

  2. I would also suggest “The Road”, “Leon:The Professional”, and “Children of Men”

Not zombie movies, but with great relationships between two characters trying to survive. Plus, Children of men is filmed like a third person shooter, and follows a skilled criminal smuggling a person through an apocalyptic landscape.
