This little piece of nostalgia was enough to reignite the hopes for the show’s season 2. Lee Joon Gi shares Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo 2024 reunion pictures
The 41-year-old Korean actor took to Instagram to share complied clips of his interactions with the cast and crew of a famous historical K-drama. He also shared highlights from a video call shared with his former on-screen partner IU with the caption “Moon Lovers 2024.”
This little update left his fans shocked for they have been requesting the immensely popular show for years now. One fan wrote in the comments that she was a young girl when she first watched the show and now she has become a mother of a seven-year-old while awaiting the announcement of drama’s season 2.

Unfortunately, the Flower of Evil star’s IG update wasn’t intended to spark hopes for the show’s sequel but to share the cast and crew reunion organized for the release of the show’s uncut script release.

The script will include the writer’s notes, a special behind-the-scenes interview with the actors, and a replica of the handkerchief used during the famous scene where Hae Soo (IU) is protected from the rain by the 4th Prince (Lee Joon Gi).
This special merchandise is scheduled to be released on February 13, 2024, as per the listing of Philippine-based Korean Drama and K-pop merchandise online store Aegyo Korean Merchandise.

The K-drama fans have been vocal about their wishes to see Hae Soo and the Moon Lovers princes return to the screens for years. They also launched an online petition to make this happen but the creators did not share any plans to continue the series.

One of the major highlights of this show was its star-studded actors’ lineup including Lee Joon Gi, IU, Kang Ha Neul, Nam Joo Hyuk, Hong Jong Hyun, EXO’s Baekhyun, Ji Soo, Yoon Sun Woo, Kang Ha Na, Jin Ki Joo and Girls Generation’s Seohyun among others.
Many of the stars such as Lee Joon Gi and IU have remained positive to return for season 2 if it is ever created but gathering the complete star cast is an un-ignorable huddle. Additionally, the tragic drama tied all of its threads at the end of the series which makes it difficult to revive it for another season.

Nevertheless, fans have hope that someday their wishes to meet their favorite characters on screen will be fulfilled. Perhaps, in the form of a fantasy series where they all reunite in the current time to continue one of the most heartfelt love stories in K-drama land.
