Mojang has announced the next update naming it Minecraft Trails and Tales. The developers revealed as much as they needed to last year in December. As per the reveals, a lot of new features are going to be added to the game.
With every major update, Mojang looks to expand the ever-expanding world of Minecraft. Be it adding new mobs, passive and aggressive, new biome or blocks, something new is always added. Here is what we all know regarding the upcoming 1.20 update of Minecraft.
Minecraft Trails and Tales update release date
Adding catchy nomenclature to Minecraft updates was never the original idea. Ever since the game was officially released back on November 18, 2011, there have been many an update. However, adding names started with 1.4.2 on October 25, 2012.
Naming can be one thing, but it has always been a ritual to never announce the release date of upcoming major updates by Mojang. Interpolation can still be done. With recent patterns, Mojang has been releasing major updates every six months. Since the last update came last year’s December, we can easily say that the Minecraft Trails and Tales update is slated to release in June 2023.

Mojang releases new features with every major update. And in a similar fashion, with the Minecraft Trails and Tales update, a bunch of new features will be added to the game. Here are all the expected additions to the game:
- New Mob: Sniffer, Camel
- New Mode: Dark Mode
- Hanging Signs
- Mobile New Mobs Spawning
- Rafts
- New Bedrock UI
- Skin Changes
- New Chiseled Bookshelf
- Bamboo Wood
These are all the known features that are to come with the update. With a lot of time still remaining, some changes might be expected, or even the addition of new features from the developers.
How to download the Minecraft Trails and Tales update
Whether you have the Java or the Bedrock edition of Minecraft, you can easily opt for the snapshot or beta right now. But in order to download the official update, you must wait till the update to release.
Once the update drops, all you have to do is start the game launcher and from there update the game. Once updated, launch it and enjoy. if you are on phone, go to the official Minecraft website and download the Minecraft 1.20 update apk file.
