Minecraft: Mushroom Guide, How To Grow

In Minecraft, gamers can collect a number of different types of intractable substances. Since the recent patch 1.18, there are over 750 stackable items accessible. One fungus, though, has been here since June 2009 and is still one of Minecraft’s most valuable items. It can be used to create precious items.

Mushrooms may be grown in a number of different ways in Minecraft. They are commonly grown in gardens, subterranean tunnels, or even pots around the home. Mushrooms are plentiful and flexible in the game.

How to Grow Mushrooms?

Fundamentally, there are two types of Minecraft mushrooms that are, red and brown mushrooms. Both of which can be cultivated in a similar fashion. The most basic method is to create a farm either on the surface with a roof on top of it or underground. Players will require placing the mushrooms onto the dirt if they want the mushrooms to spread to the other block as they continue to grow.

  • Additionally, players will need to have access to a farm area that has a light level of at least 12 before they go on to place the mushrooms. Players can attain this on the surface by simply putting a roof on top of the farm. But players must be careful with the way they place the torches.
  • If too many torches are put then the mushrooms won’t grow and if too many little torches are put then the hostile mobs will begin to spawn. With that being said, players will have to make use of either recessed lighting or spread their torches out, strategically.
If players encounter any trouble in getting to the right level of light, then they can simply ignore this by planting the mushrooms in the blocks listed below:
  • Nylium: Nylium is a new addition with the Nether update, and it comes in two varieties. The first is in bent woodlands, while the second is in crimson forests.
  • Mycelium: Mycelium can be found in mushroom field biomes. As a side note, before attempting to break any mycelium blocks, make sure you have a shovel enchanted with silk touch; breaking a block without it would just ruin the block.
  • Podzol: If you’re looking for Podzol, you can locate it in the huge tree taiga and large spruce taiga biomes.

As players place the mushrooms in the above-mentioned blocks, they will safely grow at any given light level. Building a farm is quite demanding. And there is another way of growing mushrooms fast. This can be done by growing giant mushrooms. Players must see that they have ample room because that is the number one requirement of growing giant mushrooms.

Growing Mushrooms

A minimum of four or more blocks on all the sides of the brown mushrooms and three on red mushrooms are required. Moreover, players must utilize one of the three blocks that was mentioned earlier and they will need to have some bonemeal in order for the mushrooms to grow.

  • Once, players have got all the required blocks placed, they can get their bonemeal and place it in the hot bar. Thereafter, they can use their interaction key on the mushrooms. This action will help the mushrooms grow into humongous and gigantic mushrooms.
  • Harvesting of such mushrooms will easily fetch the player a minimum of twenty mushrooms. Getting access to bonemeal is fairly simple in Minecraft given that player has a composter. This is important as players might have to use more than one bonemeal on a particular mushroom. This is dependent on the block it is planted on.
