MAX: The Idol Cast member roles + Plot | Is it safe for teens?

HBO Max The Idol cast members safe for teens

With an exciting storyline and diverse cast members, HBO’s The Idol just premiered on Max. However, audiences and critics have not been so kind to the show. Regardless, the hype around Euphoria creator Sam Levinson’s controversial series is enough to keep it afloat. Let’s take a look at all the cast members and their roles in The Idol and if the HBO show is safe for teens to watch on Max.

The A24 show is about a wannabe pop idol and her twisted connection with a self-help mentor who leads a cult. Critics panned the series when it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last month. The show’s excessively mature themes revolving around sex, drugs and crime have been subject to criticism. Furthermore, reports of a toxic shooting environment have also resulted in general audience aversion.

Is The Idol on Max safe for teens and kids?

HBO’s The Idol received a TV-MA age rating in the United States. The TV Mature Audience Only rating means it is meant only for adults, and the content is unsuitable for children under 17.

Furthermore, the first episode alone has severe instances of sex, nudity, profanity, alcohol, drugs, smoking, violence and other intense scenes. If you’re a parent or a guardian of an underage child or teen, it’s ideal to keep The Idol out of their way as it is unsafe.

The smoking aspect, in particular, has already become a meme on social media platforms. Lily-Rose Depp’s main character Jocelyn keeps smoking throughout the first episode in almost every scene.
