Last week, a sort of Matrix Resurrections/Unreal Engine 5 experience was being hinted at. Now, the project has been revealed. What’s even more exciting is that you can pre-load it now. However, the official reveal is only happening later this week.
THE MATRIX AWAKENS
The Matrix Awakens is a new Unreal Engine 5 tech demo. Ahead of its reveal, console users can now access it. Users can find it in the PlayStation and Xbox stores. The demo will take up 29 GB of space. Later this week, the Game Awards 2021 will reveal the whole experience.
How do we know what is real?

“Created by members of the original movie team including Lana Wachowski along with Epic Games and partners, The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience is a wild ride into the reality-bending universe of The Matrix that features performances by Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. Get ready for a glimpse into the future of interactive storytelling and entertainment with UE5 in this free, boundary-pushing cinematic and real-time tech demo.”
CONSOLE-EXCLUSIVE
- However, the tech demo is exclusive to the console platform. PC owners will have to console themselves with a video of The Matrix Awakens, at least for now. The console front has been Epic Games’ focus recently.
- It can be argued that the best experience of The Matrix Awakening tech demo will be on high-end PCs. However, it is not without reason that Epic games have made the decision to make it console-exclusive.
- Consoles provide for better control of user experience. This is because specification differences are absent. However, PC owners will still be disappointed that the tech demo experience will not be able to them.
- We do not know if the demo will be made available for PC owners in the future. However, we hope that it will be. Check out the teaser for the tech demo below.
