Mass Effect TV Series In Development, Amazon Studios

According to Deadline, Amazon Studios chief Jennifer Salke revealed that the company is close to reaching an agreement with Electronic Arts to make a television series based on the best-selling video game franchise Mass Effect.

If Amazon is thinking of roping in familiar faces then voice actors from the video game such Shoreh Aghashloo, Yvonne Strahovski, Tricia Helfer, Martin Sheer, and Seth Green – among these famous faces, Aghdashloo and Helfer have earlier featured and player sci-fi characters on The Expanse and Battlestar Galactica as such they might just be the perfect fit for Mass Effect Characters!

• Last year, Amazon Studies made an announcement about a series that is based on Bethesda apocalypse game series called Fallout. This series was all prepared to feature the Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy as executive producers.

• Hence, the Mass Effect series won’t be Amazon’s first venture into the world of video game adaptations. Furthermore, the success of Wheel of Time speaks well for sci-fi fans who have a subscription to the streaming site as they prepare for the upcoming Mass Effect series and the widely anticipated Lord of the Rings series in the near future.

BioWare has also recently hinted at a new game in the franchise, following the release of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition earlier this year, which merges the previous three Mass Effect games and makes them playable on modern platforms.

However, it is quite unclear if Amazon’s next Mass Effect series would include the game’s popular characters like Commander Shepard, Liara T’Soni, and Garrus Vakarian, or whether it will be a fresh tale set inside the existing universe.

Created by BioWare, Mass Effect is basically a science-fiction-based RPG. In this game, players take the form of Commander Shepard. They will lead their respective teams to solve the plethora of mysteries and save from the Reapers threat who is hell-bent on eliminating all life from the galaxy.

It was in 2007 that the first game of Mass Effect had hit the shelves. This franchise has since gone on to become one of the most popular video games, globally. The Mass Effect universe includes the original trilogy. It follows the same protagonists throughout each adventure, as well as a 2017 spin-off, that is, Mass Effect: Andromeda.
