Mark Zuckerberg Hawaii house faces backlash

Hawaii Islands are popular among tourists for their scenic grounds, volcanos, and waters but they hold much more meaning for locals. After the Maui Fires the residents are trying their best to preserve their paradise. Amid this Mark Zuckerberg‘s $100 million compound, with a hidden bunker and eleven treetop sanctuaries, comes as a displacement threat.

Although the islands also house other influential figures such as Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates, netizens are suspicious of Mark Zuckerberg’s bunker. The 100 million dollar project with at least 60 bedrooms and a suspicious amount of secrecy has raised speculations of wars, apocalypse, and the beginning of another pandemic.

A major reason for these rumors is the high attention to the secrecy of the project. As per Wired, hundreds of employees are driven to and fro the site but they are strictly forbidden from discussing the property. They are also bound by a non-disclosure agreement prohibiting them from discussing details with other teams or taking photos of the site.

Many believe that all these precautions are to keep the real reasons for building the property away from the press. They suspect that billionaires‘ sudden actions such as building a bunker are foretellings of big events. Meanwhile, many have refrained from the speculations and criticized the American businessman for spending a great sum on properties he wouldn’t be able to use instead of investing it in his philanthropic work.

As per Wired, the ongoing construction project is codenamed Koolau Ranch and is located on Kauai Island. The property will be separated into living quarters and a mechanical area which will be connected with a tunnel. Each property will house around 30 bedrooms which will be further protected with blash-resistant steel and concrete gates.

It is a project driven with a focus on luxury and safety and can easily culminate costing as much as $270 million. It is a grand-scale project and one of the largest construction of a private property. However, people are more curious to learn about the type of natural and man-made calamities that Zugerberg is preparing to shelter himself from rather than the luxuries of his abode.
