There’s plenty of exciting news for fans of the original anime series Lycoris Recoil. The anime has announced a new anime project during their special event Lycoris Recoil Café Presents After Party! Tomorrow is another day. It was held on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
How Lycoris Recoil Season 2 still has scope for coming into being
The gun blazing kung fuu displayed in the Anime has been nothing short of praiseworthy. To the leven even John Wick will seem blunted by it.
But fans were also quick to realize that underlying Lycoris Recoil’s gun-fu are deeper tones of friendship and moral questionings. Having to deal with a Batman Complex, our main protagonists go through their slice-of-life growing.
- Lycoris Recoil was an anime original. It was then adapted into a manga. That’s why whether a Season 2 is possible or not is tellible from the Manga alone.
- The first season of Lycoris Recoil, produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Shingo Adachi, was a hit. Airing for 13 episodes from July 2 to September 24, 2022. According to a survey by Anime Corner, it was the best Japanese anime produced that year.
Both the original Japanese version and an English dub were available for streaming on Crunchyroll as the episodes aired.
Is Lycoris Recoil Season 2 happening?
Yesterday, the sneak peek at the new Lycoris Recoil animation was unveiled, featuring the pair of Chisato Nishikigi and Takina Inoue. Despite being only under a minute long, the trailer packs a lot of content, including the evolving friendship between the main characters and some lighthearted, tender, and exciting moments.

Additionally, the trailer gives a glimpse of some action sequences. The accompanying description states that the story of the duo never ends. For all intents and purpoes, the new Lycoris Recoil project could also be an anime movie.
Will the old staff and cast return?
The details regarding the personnel involved in the new Lycoris Recoil project are still under wraps. However, the official website has confirmed that A-1 Pictures will once again be handling production, with Shingo Adachi serving as the director, and Imigimuru, the light novel illustrator, collaborating on the project.
What will Lycoris Recoil Season 2 be about?
Chisato Nishikigi and Takina Inoue are the main characters in the series. They belong to a secretive government organization that consists of orphaned spies and assassins.
They carry out their missions while posing as high school students, operating from a café named LycoReco. Their duties include eliminating criminals, protecting important figures, battling monsters, and preserving peace.
Unfortunately, no further information was given about the new project. It remains unclear whether it will be a series or a movie, but given the success of the first season, it is probably a new season that is in development.
