February 22, 2022 – The Brooklyn Net’s head coach, Steve Nash, is again reunited with his previous Phoenix Suns teammate, Goran Dragic. Brooklyn signed Dragic for the remainder of the season after being bought out by the San Antonio Spurs.
Dragic played previously for the Toronto Raptors. He averaged 8.5 ppg while playing only 5 games with the Raptors. He was traded by the Raptors to the Spurs, but then later agreed to a buy-out.
With the addition of Dragic, the Brooklyn Nets now have 6 point guards on their roster.
- Ben Simmons – Simmons is yet to play with the team on March 10. He’s a pass-first point guard but can also play the forward spot due to his size and length
- Kyrie Irving – Well, Kyrie will only be able to play 8 out of their next 23 games due to health protocols. He won’t be there most of the time, and with Kevin Durant being out due to injuries, they’re probably gonna need him as their first option.
- Patty Mills – Patty is a good player who can be relied on in scoring and in crunch time. He can play the one, as well as the two-spot.

- Seth Curry – Although listed as a point guard, Seth’s position with the Nets is like a shooting guard. A spot-up and catch-and-shoot player that moves well off-the-ball.
- Jevon Carter – The nets reserve point guard. With Dragic’s arrival, his playing time might diminish even more.
Goran Dragic is known as a “true” point guard.
And by “true”, that means a point guard that prioritizes facilitating his teammates and making plays. The likes of Magic Johnson, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, John Stockton, and Chris Paul are just a few names listed in this category.
Dragic can also play even without the ball in his hands. He’s a good scorer and an efficient shooter. The 13-year veteran can definitely bring a veteran presence on the floor for the Nets.
Let’s not forget his playing days with the Miami Heat in 2016.
He was phenomenal with that Heat team, averaging 20.3 points, 5.8 dimes, 3.8 boards, while also shooting a terrific 40.5 field goal percentage from three.
