Jessi and Jay Park Contract Termination Rumors | K-Pop Stars Shut Down Dispute Claims

Jessi and Jay Park shut down the rumors that their contract under the former’s agency, More Vision, which the latter owned, would be terminated. Allegedly, the company notified Jessi of its intention to terminate their exclusive contract and reportedly discussed the issue. So, what’s the truth about it?

Jessi and Jay Park Denise Rumors About Terminating the Contract Between Them

The dispute rumors began when the South Korean news outlet The Fact claimed that More Vision was considering terminating Jessi’s contract after canceling her supposed appearance on the chart show Music Bank on October 27.

The female rapper-singer instantly denied the claim, saying in a post on her Instagram Story that the report was “nonsense” and she and Jey Park were all good. “Y’all need to get a life FR,” she continued. “We all good over here.”

On the other hand, Jay Park did the same and cleared the air in his own post on Instagram Story.

Me and Jessie are good,” he wrote, as translated by Soompi. “No need to worry. There is no such thing as discord.”

The 34-year-old signed with More Vision in April 2022, and the two announced this new collaboration during a special appearance at Rolling Loud Thailand. The move happened almost a year after she left Psy’s music label, P Nation, in July 2022.

But despite living her previous label, the singer revealed she had remained loyal to Psy no matter what happened—good or bad. She continued that the 45-year-old record producer had held her down even though they had their “whatever.”

The Alleged Contract Termination of Jessi

A report on Wednesday, December 6 claimed that Jay Park’s More Vision and Jessi were in talks to terminate her exclusive contract.

Seven months after signing the deal with the said label, the decision to end the professional relationship between the two parties suddenly came despite the remaining time left. This resulted in different opinions between the talent and More Vision, allegedly resulting in a standoff without a formal agreement.

As they reportedly look for a way to bridge their differences, the chances for reconciliation and continuing the contract are said to be very slim.

She recently made her much-awaited comeback by releasing her new song, Gum, on October 25—half a year after she joined More Vision. However, the controversy began when she failed to appear on KBS2’s Music Bank, with the company revealing her absence was because of her sudden health issue.

She then missed her appearances on MBC’s Show! Music Core and SBS’s Inkigayo also because of a health problem. But despite her reason, her nonappearances raised the eyebrows of many, who couldn’t help but compare her active participation on music broadcast stages while promoting her album.

From there, an industry insider revealed that the South Korean entertainer and More Vision started to have disagreements about her new song promotions, and the latter decided it would be best for both of them to call it quits.

In her appearance on SBS Power FM’s Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time on October 31, Jessi revealed that she went solo after leaving P Nation and learned a lot, though she also experienced betrayal.

In four years, she revealed she hadn’t had a break and was hurt, exhausted from continuously working, stressed, and betrayed.

Though the reports leave fans skeptical, with some believing it’s true, Jessi and Jay Park have already broken their silence about it and set the record straight. The two denied those claims and even released their statements directly from their respective Instagram accounts. So, unless fans see her out of More Vision, that’s the only time they can say the claims are true.
