The Indian pacer, Jasprit Bumrah has become one of the deadliest bowlers in the world. He is popularly known as Yorker King. Bumrah made his white-ball debut for India in 2016 against Australia. He then made his Test debut in 2018 against South Africa. His success curve is just mind-blowing. The curve has never gone downwards since his debut. Currently, Bumrah is at 6th position in ICC bowlers rankings.
Jasprit Bumrah, in his 27-matches Test career, has picked up 113 wickets, at an average of 22.85. He is the fastest Indian to pick 100 wickets in test matches. Now he has been given the responsibility as vice-captain in the Test series against Sri Lanka, due to an injury to KL Rahul.
Earlier, Bumrah used to celebrate when he takes wickets.
His iconic celebration was just staring at the batter after getting him out. However, now he doesn’t celebrate after taking wickets. Everyone is curious to know why he stopped celebrating. He revealed the reason in a virtual meet before the first Test against Sri Lanka.

During the virtual press meet ahead of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Mohali, Bumrah was asked why he doesn’t smile and do a proper celebration after taking a wicket and the pacer revealed the secret behind the same.
Bumrah said, “When I was young, I used to celebrate a lot. I used to get overexcited and actually plan my celebration.”
“So I try to focus on the job at hand and yes when the game is over and the team has won then there’s ample time to celebrate. So till the time my job is not done, my focus is on making the team win.”
Jasprit primarily focuses on the game and saves his energies as he could celebrate as much as he wants to after the game.
