Did Jada Pinkett Smith and Tupac Shakur have a romance? “Soulmate” Remark Explained

Jada Pinkett Smith is at it again! After revealing she and her husband of 25 years, Will Smith, have been separated for seven years, she made another bombshell revelation. The actress-talk show host called the late Tupac Shakur her “soulmate” despite being married to Will. So, did the two have a romance back then?

Did Jada Pinkett Smith and Tupac Shakur ever Date?

Jada and Tupac were known to have a close relationship when the latter was still alive, leading to the speculations that the two possibly had a romance. But did they date?

The Bad Moms star and the legendary rapper first met in Baltimore in the 1980s. From there, they formed a close friendship until he died in 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

And despite the years that the Changes hitmaker had been gone, Jada referred to him as someone she had a “soulmate friendship.” “If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think that Pac and I have traveled a few together,” she told Christal Jordan in a new interview with RollingOut.

But amid the talks that they were possibly together, the 52-year-old stressed it wasn’t possible. Sure, they formed a close bond, but there was “no chemistry” between them. They just had a connection she called a “friendship-love chemistry,” and having a future together was something they both didn’t eye having.

Jada believed God made them that way, putting them together to be a “dynamic duo,” but there was no way they would have a romance cause it “wasn’t the purpose.”

So, a year after Tupac’s death, Jada tied the knot with Will. These two had created a great image for their romance in front of the camera and the public and were dubbed one of Hollywood’s strongest power couples. But that instantly changed when Jada revealed they had been separated for seven years, though not divorced.

Sadly, these two also fall into the pit of the negative connotation that comes with Hollywood romance, where many Hollywood couples end up divorcing or splitting. But Jada and Will seem to have a deal that they will never opt for a divorce. Why? Jada explained that she made a promise that there was no way that they would ever divorce, and she decided to stick to that promise.

By the looks of it, the couple may still be trying to make everything work out between them despite all the things that have been said about them. In fact, Jada also said that they were still trying to “figure out” what their marriage’s future would look like.

Jada Pinkett Smith’s “Soulmate” Remark Explained

This isn’t the first time that Jada has talked about her relationship with Tupac. She has been open about their bond in public since time immemorial. But amid all the revelations she has made, she often stresses that they’re just “friends.” So, calling him her “soulmate” shouldn’t be a big issue.

Many may think that Jada’s latest reveal may have something to do with the promotions of her upcoming memoir, Worthy. Though she says that all the questions many want answers will be in her book, it cannot be denied that she has already talked about Tupac in several interviews in the past.

Fans who have followed her all along should never be surprised. She even said that if there was one thing that she wanted people to understand, she and Tupac were only friends.

So, ladies and gentlemen, it’s possible to be “soulmates” with a friend even though they aren’t involved romantically—even if they’re not the same gender—especially if no one wants to make an issue out of it.
