Park Bom may soon make her much-awaited return if the latest news about her has anything to go by. After sharing pictures of her on social media, news emerged that the former 2NE1 member has an upcoming new album. The K-pop star has been facing health issues as of late, but amid these claims, she has been busy doing a few gigs here and there. So, does it mean fans will once again hear from her soon?
Park Bom Reportedly Has a New Album Coming
Amid the concerns about Park Bom’s health issue, a representative told OSEN via AllKpop that the South Korean singer is doing fine today. The spokesman even gave an update about her singing career.
The rep revealed she’s now preparing for a new album, and details about it will soon be revealed.
For starters, the 39-year-old started her K-pop career in 2006, releasing songs through her labelmates, Big Bang, Lexy, and Masta Wu. She then joined 2NE1 as the main vocalist in 2008 and became one of the most popular K-pop girl groups in the world.
With her great singing talent, she released two singles, You and I and Don’t Cry, which both topped South Korea’s music chart, Gaon Digital Chart. She also received Best Digital Single at the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
When 2NE1 disbanded in 2016, Park Bom left YG Entertainment and signed with D-Nation Entertainment. In 2019, she dropped her comeback single, Spring, followed by a repackaged album, re: Blue Rose.
So, four years after re: Blue Rose, a new album from Park Bom is surely much-awaited.
Park Bom Health Concerns
Issues about Park Bom’s health have been raised since 2020. Fans noticed her weight gain during the 56th Daejong Film Awards celebration.
At the time, she said her weight gain had to do with her focus on her physical health. So, she went on a diet and lost 11 kilograms and later revealed a much slimmer figure.
However, when she graced POPSTIVAL in the Philippines in 2022, talks about her health issues had been renewed after showing another weight gain. The evident change in her appearance drew a lot of concern from fans and netizens alike.
Former entertainment reporter turned YouTube personality Lee Jin Ho said in a video that Park Bom had Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and was having a hard time controlling her eating habits. This has reportedly been going on since she was a member of 2NE1.
D-NATION's official response to health concern and weight of Bom:

A former YG official allegedly said it was hard to control the K-pop star, especially if she was stressed. She would usually binge eat, making it difficult for her to watch her weight. She, too, was said to be spontaneous when it comes to her style.
With her sudden weight gain back then, many were concerned that it might be because she was experiencing great stress.
But amid the rumors about her health, her agency broke its silence and cleared Park Bom had no health issues at all. It reasoned that since the hitmaker had been inactive then, she eventually gained weight. So, to stop the talks and get her back in shape, she started working out and dieting.

However, she admitted she did have ADD and said it was hard to go on a diet because of her treatments. But after losing weight, she was happy to succeed finally. “I am getting off medication and getting healthier,” she said last year.
Park Bom’s Latest Gigs
True enough, Park Bom has been showing a slimmer figure today. She, too, is busy performing back on stage. Just last month, it was announced that she would return to Manila for a show in November with her fellow former 2NE1 member, Minzy.
The two will perform at the upcoming K-BLAST Epic Party at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds on November 24. Aside from Park Bom and Minzy, the event’s organizers teased that there would be more artists attending the event that would be announced soon. So far, there are no words on the ticket prices and selling dates.
The K-pop world has been known for having impossible beauty standards. Hence, Park Bom’s weight gain has been a big issue among fans and critics. But despite the health concern, it can’t be denied that she has been doing her best to get back in shape and perform as she used to. She has proven that her weight gain has nothing to do with her great singing and dancing talents.
So, with her good health status and activities in the music scene as of late, it may be true that she’s about to release a new album of her own. If this happens, this is the much-awaited comeback for her and 2NE1’s fans.
