Is GTA 5 Cross Platform? PS5, Xbox Series X

Rockstar Games first released GTA 5 back in 2013, which is the 7th installment in the beloved Grand Theft Auto franchise.

GTA 5 was a massive hit and became a huge success worldwide.

Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5) is an action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North. It’s an open-world game where you roam the cruel streets of Los Santos as a civilian (or you can be almost anyone, honestly).

Since its release, the game has already gone a long way and has made its way to different platforms. The game is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.

Lately, rumors are spreading about GTA V adapting the cross-platform play.

First, what is a cross-platform play?

Cross-platform gaming is a term that basically means you can play the same game with or against other players in (you got it right) different platforms.

This scheme is most commonly used in other games like Brawlhalla, Call of Duty, Dead by Daylight, and more.

But, as of today, the hopes of cross-platform for GTA V is not yet on the horizon. There is NO cross-play multiplayer for next-gen GTA V Online as PS5 cannot play with Xbox Series X.

But wait, there’s something wonderful that might interest you.

You can actually transfer your GTA 5 and GTA 5 Online saves to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S Here’s how.

GTA Story Mode Data Transfer:

• While on the game, press the PAUSE MENU
• Open the GAME TAB
• Then select “UPLOAD GAME SAVE”

This process perfectly works on both the PS4 and Xbox One.

GTA 5 Online Data Transfer:

• Make sure you have Rockstar Games Social Club account
• Migrate your beloved character to PS5 or Xbox Series X|S when the game launches on these platforms on March 15
• Content which can be transferred: Progression, Properties, Weapons, Clothing, and more!

Please take note that any GTA$ you purchased with real money will not make the jump if you are going from one console family to another.
