Dwight Howard has had a fruitful NBA career. Truly, he experienced a solid 18 years in the league. And while the latter end of his playing days were pretty decent, he was a beast during his prime. Today, Howard is playing overseas, in Taiwan’s T1 league where he is the Taoyuan Leopard’s import. There, he is thriving and was named as an All-Star in the league. With his performance overseas, is it just right for Howard to return to the NBA?

Dwight Howard’s Hall-of-Fame career
According to a website called basketball-reference, Dwight has 99.73% of making the Naismith Hall-of-Fame. He has even higher chances than players like Carmelo Anthony, Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Damian Lillard.
Back in the day, when players still live and breath in the painted area, Dwight Howard as one hell of a dominant center. In his prime, DH12 became a 3-time Defensive Player of the Year in three consecutive seasons. He was also named as an All-Star 8 times. Additionally, as the best center in mid-2000s until early 2010s, Dwight was also a 6-time All-NBA and 7-time All-Defensive team member.
Safe to say that Dwight Howard will go down as one of the best centers to ever do it.

The perfect NBA team for Dwight Howard’s possible return
At 37 years old, Howard may look old, but he still has something to offer to the table – DEFENSE. Defense, as many people would say, is already pretty non-existent these days. DH12 is still uber athletic for his age which means he could still block shots and get rebounds. The last time he played in the NBA, Howard averaged 6.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks for the Lakers by only playing 16 minutes per contest.
His playstyle and defensive prowess could translate to something bigger on a team filled with All-Stars, and that would be the Golden State Warriors. The Dubs just traded away their 7’0″ big man James Wiseman to the Detroit Pistons last week. This means they’re lacking something in the center position.
Before he left the NBA for Taiwan, there were talks of GSW possibly signing DH12 prior to the 2022-2023 season. However, that did not come to reality. This season, or maybe the next, the dubs may look for another veteran presence down low. Howard can help anchor the defense in the paint and guide the Warriors’ young centers.
