“One last ride”. Sadly, everything must come to an end as Harrison Ford’s appearance as the iconic Indiana Jones may end in the franchise’ 5th installment, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Through more than 40 years, Harrison Ford has held the mantle as Earth’s most adventurous archaeologist. The wisecracking treasure hunter has never been short of adventures in all of the preceding movies. With the movie slated to be released this summer, let’s take a closer look at who the returning cast are plus the new raiders of the lost ark err we mean new members of the film.

The return of the comeback: Cast members returning for another epic adventure

Of course, it wouldn’t be Indiana Jones without the man himself, Harrison Ford. Although he is already 80 years old, the award-winning actor looks like he is just 50. John Rhys-Davies will also reprise his role as Sallah, one of Indy’s close friends who appeared in Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade. Meanwhile, although Karen Allen’s role as Marion Ravenwood is a good addition to the film, there is no official announcement that she will be reprising the character. Fans have also wondered what happened to Indiana Jones’ son, Mutt, who was played by Shia LaBeouf. According to reports, Mutt will not be featured in the latest movie but his whereabouts will be revealed.

Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge will play a lead role in Indiana Jones 5. The actress will portray Indy’s goddaughter Helena Shaw. Helena will join Indy in his pursuit of another legendary religious artifact called the Dial of Destiny. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is so star-studded with actors like Antonio Banderas, Madz Mikkelsen, and Thomas Kretschmann joining the gang. Mikkelsen and Kretschmann will be the movie’s antagonists as the Nazi assets.

The fifth film in the franchise has wrapped up filming and will be released on June 30, 2023. Furthermore, Harrison Ford said this will be his last ride with Indiana Jones. If there will be future films about the iconic character, we might get to see another actor portray the adventurer.
