The Indian test cricket captain’s position was vacant after Virat Kohli left test captaincy. Today BCCI declared the new test captain before the upcoming Sri Lanka test series. The new is obviously Rohit Sharma, there is no better option than him. Jasprit Bumrah was named as Vice-Capatin. the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka, which starts on Thursday, 24th February. The first Test against Sri Lanka begins on March 4 in Mohali while the second Test will be a day-night affair in Bengaluru from March 12 onwards.
Rohit has early named as India’s full-time white-ball captain late last year, replacing Virat Kohli in the role. Rohit will be the captain of the Indian cricket team going forward in Tests. Unless, of course, he will be unavailable for some reason.
Virat, Rishabh, and Shardul Rested
Virat Kohli has been rested from the T20I series but will return for the Test matches. Rishabh Pant has been rested from Sri Lanka’s entire tour of India along with Shardul Thakur.
Washington Sundar and KL Rahul will also miss the entire home series against Sri Lanka “unless they recover early”. Veteran batters Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have been dropped from the Test side for the series against Sri Lanka.

Moreover, Ravindra Jadeja has come back to the series.
