Post-credits scenes have been a norm in movies these days, and the Fast and Furious franchise is no different from the other franchises that have adapted it. The Fast and Furious latest installment and their 10th movie, Fast X, teased fans with an unexpected post-credit scene. Heralded by Vin Diesel (Dominic Toretto), the Fast saga has been around for more than 20 years now. The franchise doesn’t seem to be going down any soon, and the teasers seem to be creating something bigger than what we have seen in Fast X. If you haven’t seen the Fast X end credit scene, we got you! We aren’t just going to tell you about it, we’re also going to dig deeper and discuss everything about it. But, read at your own risk since this article will be a major spoiler!
The Fast X post-credit scene shows a character we all loved! (post-credit scene explained)
After the end credits rolled out, a scene nobody expected suddenly graced viewers who sat until the movie finally ended. The scene started when a SWAT team stormed an abandoned building. While they were searching the place, one of the squad members (we presumed was the leader), came across a movie theater. There, a TV screen is spotted showing a music video of a ’70s love song titled “Til’ we meet again (Doris Day)”. Everything is already pretty suspicious and something must be brewing. Suddenly, an unknown phone call pops up, and to everyone’s surprise – it’s the film’s villain, Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa). Everyone was even more surprised and ecstatic when the masked police officer revealed his face – and it was Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson)!
Dante revealed that the person who really killed his father, Hernan Reyes, was none of than Agent Hobbs. As we all remember, Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida) was one of the antagonists in Fast Five (2011). Below is the whole conversation of the post-credit scene between Dante Reyes and Hobbs:
Dante: Howdy, partner. Do you like surprises? (Chuckles) You’ve done dastardly, dirty deeds, Sheriff. You took the most important thing in my life from me. Dom drove the car, but you … you pulled the trigger. And now I’m gonna make you suffer. The devil is coming for you, lawman.
Hobbs: Well, I ain’t hard to find, you sum b-tch.
The post-credit scene teases that there could be an upcoming film, probably the 11th installment in the Fast and Furious franchise
Obviously, that would be a showdown between Dante Reyes and Luke Hobbs. And, of course, Dom Toretto’s family would still run into that. We have seen the unexpected cameo of Gisele (Gal Gadot), whom we all thought was already dead. Then, we also discovered that Aimes (Alan Ritchson) was Dante’s spy since the beginning. Another thing that could spark from this post-credit scene is the possibility of the sequel to the spinoff Hobbs and Shaw. Featuring the uncanny partnership of former enemies Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw was outstanding at the box office. That being said, it’s highly imaginable we will be getting a Hobbs and Shaw 2 soon. Previously, Dwayne Johnson exited the franchise after a feud with Vin Diesel. But, it seems that everything is all good and mended with The Rock’s return to the spotlight.
