The Kakushis are the top secret troop in Demon Slayer who play a supporting role in the show. They wear dark versions of the demon slayer uniforms consisting of modified Gakuran jackets and hakama pants. Their forearms and shins are covered with long stretchy fabric protecting their sleeves and hakama. They wear long white socks and Zoro flats on their foot.

To protect their identity, the Kakushi always have to cover their head with a dark covering and a paper mask from the front of their face to the back with a slit in the middle allowing them to breathe and talk easily.

The Kakushis have been helping the slayers from the Sengoku era when Michikatsu treacherously killed the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. They are not allowed to reveal who they are and work in secret, which is why their identity is quite a mystery to the fans.

The Kakushis are a brigade of individuals who support the Demon Slayer Corps in various duties. They help clean up the mess after any battle between the Corps and demons. They are seen to appear when any battle has ended and they carry the wounded people on their back to the Butterfly mansion. The Demon Slayer Corps couldn’t have their troops ready at all times without the help of the Kakushi.

The Kakushi are lower-ranked non-fighting members and they perform tasks such as transportation, cleaning, fixing, mending, sewing, and so on. They carry the Demon Slayers to the secret villages with the crows guiding them. The Kakushi make the uniforms that are worn by the Demon Slayers.

The people who can also join the Kakushi are those Corps who got injured in a battle and are not able to fight anymore and those who failed the selection exams. Although they are the non-fighting group, they possess hand-to-hand combat skills and are good at stealth work.

The Kakushi is a significant part of the Demon Slayer because without them the Demon Slayer Corps will not be able to concentrate solely on killing demons. Their identities should be kept hidden at all costs so that they are not targeted and demons don’t kill or capture them in order to torture them and take information about the demon slayers.
