Last week, Guerilla Games released the new patch for Horizon Forbidden West. Although the patch is meant to introduce balance changes in the game, most of the changes weren’t well-received. The new patch essentially nerfs Legendary weapons in the game, and gamers aren’t too happy with that.
Horizon Forbidden West’s new patch left fans feeling disappointed about the “rebalanced” combat mechanics
Every patch for any game includes either minor fixes or major changes to a certain aspect. However, the new patch for Horizon Forbidden West didn’t involve just minor fixes like bugs in quests or world items. What happened was legendary weapons and armor base stats were lowered too much that it didn’t sit well with players.

One Reddit user, ignimbrite wrote a lengthy and detailed post about how frustrating the balance changes were. After the nerfing of the base stats for legendary weapons, farming for upgrade resources started becoming a tedious task.
Moreover, they shared their experience with grinding for upgrade resources.
“I grinded like 80 slitherfang earthgrinders for this and now my Death Seeker’s Shadow is just a below-average purple Hunter bow with extra coil slots? Literally WHY, it’s a freaking single player game ya dorks.”
Other users called on Guerilla Games to “lower the upgrade costs” for weapons if the legendary weapons’ stats weren’t going to be as impressive as they were before. Additionally, one other player stated that grinding for resources puts players at risk of becoming uninterested in the game.
There are no comments yet from Guerilla Games if there will be a rollback on these changes
The official subreddit of Horizon Forbidden West is filled with posts from players complaining about the changes. So, it’s not impossible for the devs to see that the new patch isn’t being taken well. However, there are no statements yet from Guerilla about the new patch so we’ll just have to wait and see what they’ll do to resolve these issues.
