Who is Isidora Marganach in Hogwarts Legacy?
Hogwarts Legacy sees Isidora Morganach as the good-turned-evil story wielder antagonist. One that appears in the flashbacks. Her value in the story is rather different. Similar to how Voldemort was hinted at initially as a figure of the past – he who must not be named. She is not a character directly encountered.
Isidora and her proclivity for the ancient magic
Isidora Morganach was a firm believer in the sanctioning of the Ancient Magic to all. To administer it for the benefit of the Wizardry world. She wielded the Ancient Magic herself. Her goal was to take away the pain of others.
Albeit such a utopian goal eventually led to her villain origin as she became affirmed with non-real ideals. Her obsession with easing the pain of the world led her on a darker path. This is paved further by her loss of her brother and the eventual depression that her father fell into.
How Isidora went to Hogwarts
- Isidora Morganach was born in Feldcroft near Hogwarts. And at the age of 15 she entered the school. Having been put into Ravenclaw, Isidora found a mentor in Rackham. Who helped her master the ability to wield ancient magic.
- Isidora eventually goes onto become a professor of the Defense against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts. One absolutely befitting of dark characters who have a shred of light within (Snape, anyone?). Although not quite as similar as Snape.
Hogwarts Legacy sees Isidora inventing a pain cure spell
Isidora’s primary ability was that she had invented a spell to cure pain. After her entry as the new professor, she asked the four keepers to her house. Displaying the capacity to take away pain from other people with this new spell. She used it on her father to remove the pain of the loss of his son (her brother).
The Keepers were not satisfied. Instead, they were terrified. Disapproving of such means. Yet she continued to test this spell again and again on many people and storing them in her jar.Â
The repository of pain and how it lead to her end
- In Hogwarts Legacy, Isidora ends up creating a repository of pain. She hid the repository below Hogwarts in a gigantic cavern.
- The extracted pain would pile up within the repository. And she soon discovers that such pain can become a powerful fuel. She would then consume the pain to become powerful.
Her repeated use of this spell on her father transformed him to lose all his emotions. A deprived person with only a frontier of humanity. Although deranged from everything that makes one a human.
Her actions eventually lead to the four keepers confronting her. Professor Bakar who becomes worried approaches Rackham, her mentor. They are joined by Fitzgerald and Rookwood. The four then engage in the climatic battle that ensues between Isidora and them. Ending only when Bakar puts the Killing Curse on her, thus killing her.
