In the world of Harry Potter, Alohomora is a spell used to unlock doors, chests and magical locks in the wizarding world. The new Hogwarts Legacy game borrows this to great effect as the main characters use it to uncover hidden secrets in their quests. Alohomora in Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy is full of secrets that you can unlock only with special abilities. And when it comes to unlocking, is there any spell better than Alohomora?
- In Hogwarts Legacy, you have to complete The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament quest in the main story in order to unlock the Alohomora spell. The ‘caretaker’ refers to Gladwin Moon, who is a caretaker at Hogwarts.
- In the game, he sets you up on a quest to find his Demiguise statues. For this purpose, he will teach you the Alohomora spell that unlocks level one doors. Once you find his first nine statues, your Alohomora gets upgraded to level two.
How to get it
In order to complete the ‘The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament’ quest in the main story, you have to be at Level 14 in Hogwarts Legacy. To get Alohomora, you have to approach the locked door in the side quest and press the square button when you see the prompt.
Rotate the outer circle with the green light and hold it with the analog key for direction. While doing this, rotate the inner circle with the red button to find the sweet spot which unlocks the door for you. This is how you get and use Alohomora in Hogwarts Legacy.
Demiguise statue Locations
The caretaker Gladwin Moon will upgrade your Alohomora spell if you find and bring the Demiguise statues that he’s looking for. The statues of the monkey-like creature clutching moons can only be collected at night.
Gladwin Moon sends you an owl asking for help in finding the Demiguise statues in the Faculty Tower at Hogwarts. They can be collected at nighttime with the help of the Revelio spell that highlights them in blue.
To get to Alohomora level two, you have to find nine Demiguise statues. Here is a list of all nine Demiguise locations in order to get Alohomora:
- Divination Classroom – In the Library Annex area, near Professor Onai’s desk.
- Professor Fig’s Office – In the Astronomy Wing area, on the table to the left of the fireplace.
- The Great Hall – along the right wall, on the table by the chairs.
- Haunted Bathroom – In the South Wing area, inside a level one locked out-of-order wizard’s bathroom.
- Restricted Section – In the Library Annex area, near the eye chest on a table.
- Hogwarts Grounds – In the Bell Tower Wing area, near the single level one locked door set into the bottom of a staircase.
- Muggle Studies – In the Astronomy Wing area, near the level one locked door by the sleeping dragon statue.
- The Hog’s Head – On the west side of town in Hogsmeade, in the backroom past the bar.
- Brood and Peck – Also in Hogsmeade, directly east of the Brood and Peck beast supply store, above a fireplace.
Gladwin Moon will upgrade your Alohomora to open Level Two locks once you give him his nine Demiguise statues. Finding the other Demiguise statues for more Alohomora upgrades gets easier after the first nine in Hogwarts Legacy.
