Hitman 3 Game Director Joins Crytek to Lead Crysis 4 Development

Hitman 3 Game Director joins Crytek

Crysis 4 got announced by Crytek back in January of this year. While we didn’t really get to see anything more than the title of the game, Crytek did release a small teaser for the announcement. However, today they’ve made another statement telling that Hitman 3’s Game Director Mattias Engström has joined Crytek. According to them, he will now be leading the development of Crysis 4.

As for Mattias Engström’s experience, he has worked at Ubisoft as a Level Designer previously. He was involved in the making of both Far Cry 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Later, he joined IO Interactive, where he worked on the first two Hitman reboot games as a Level Designer. He later was promoted as a Game Director to lead the development of Hitman 3 as well.

The Crysis Twitter account even released a statement regarding the same which reads:

“We are happy to announce that Mattias Engström, known for his work as Game Director for Hitman 3 at IO Interactive, joins the Crysis family as Game Director for the 4th installment in the Crysis franchise, starting this week.”

Before the trailer was announced, Crytek boss Avni Yerli did confirm the sequel in a blog post in January this year. He said, “We are so pleased and excited to bring this news to you, and we really can’t wait to reveal more details about what lies ahead,”

It is safe to say that this game won’t be released any time soon.

As just below the above Tweet, Crytek also announced some of its job openings. Most of the roles are for its German studio. They are currently recruiting an art director, a game designer, and a level designer too.
