An ever-riching effect that is often sprouted by authors with tremendous work behind their legacy, is such that their posterity work is also appreciated in a similar manner. The Kaguya Sama author, Aka Akasaka, having finished his said known work, had embarked on a new adventure named Oshi no Ko. With its Anime premiere having made its way, where to watch this new Anime series? and Is Oshi No Ko on Crunchyroll?

With the Anime having made its TV Debut, is Oshi no Ko on Crunchyroll?
The Oshi no Ko anime had kicked off with a special 90-minute first episode, which had been scheduled to debut in Japan and on HIDIVE on April 12. Prior to that, the episode had officially premiered in North America at Anime Boston 2023 in a screening that had been held on Friday, April 7 at 11:30 am. Following the premiere of the first episode on Wednesday, fans had obsessively praised and discussed the series.
- The series had been one of the most highly-anticipated ones of the Spring 2023 season and had been an excellent pickup by HIDIVE. Although the series might eventually make its way to Crunchyroll in future seasons, it seemed that HIDIVE had an exclusive stranglehold on the rights to internationally airing the first season.
Crunchyroll may not be picking up the streaming rights to Oshi no Ko anytime soon
- Regrettably, the acquisition of Oshi no Ko by HIDIVE had left the incredibly large Crunchyroll subscriber base without legal access to the series.
- Nonetheless, those who had desperately wanted to watch the series could at least subscribe to HIDIVE and watch it there, legally supporting the adaptation in the process.
Internationally, the series could only be streamed exclusively via HIDIVE. Although HIDIVE subscriptions, like Crunchyroll’s, were relatively affordable, fans may have been reluctant to pay for a new subscription for just one series.
Unless one decides to delve into the deeper trenches of Anime piracy, unfortunately, this had been the only way for international viewers to legally watch the series and support the official release.

HIDIVE can be accessed in various regions including the United States, Canada, Ireland, Australia, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Spain, Portugal, Latin America, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Germany, and France. Asian countries may have to wait until Crunchyroll or another streaming company potentially gets anything.
Oshi no Ko is otherwise a great matchup of some leading professionals of the Anime industry coming down together to jolt down another potentially high-mark Anime series for the fans.
About the team behind this amazing new Anime, and its intended storyline
Oshi no Ko is Based on the manga written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish), had been directed by Daisuke Hiramaki (Asteroid in Love) and assistant-directed by Chao Nekotomi (Love is Like a Cocktail) at studio Doga Kobo.
The series composition had been by Jin Tanaka (Laid-Back Camp) and the character designs by Kanna Hirayama (Rent-a-Girlfriend).
The story followed Goro Amemiya, a Gynecologist helping Ai Hoshino, a Japanese idol, deliver her children. One of Ai’s stalkers murdered Goro on the night of delivery, but he was reincarnated as Ai’s son, Aqua Hoshina, retaining his memories.
Aqua had a twin sister, Ruby Hoshino, who was also a reincarnation of one of Goro’s patients. Later, the same stalker murders Ai in front of Aqua and Ruby, leading Aqua to seek revenge, believing his biological father orchestrated the murder.
