Hell’s Paradise Episode 9 Preview released; Who will win between Tensen Zhu Jin and Gabimaru?

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is a Netflix and Crunchyroll-licensed anime TV series based on a manga written and illustrated by Yuji Kaku. Ever since its first episode aired on the 1st of April 2023, Hell’s Paradise has managed to garner a lot of positive reviews all around the world.  At the time of writing, Hell’s Paradise has 8 episodes released and MAPPA just showed the preview of episode 9.

Let’s disintegrate this preview and figure out what’s going to happen in Hell’s Devil episode 9 alongside of course, who will win the fight between Zhu Jin and Gabimaru.

Hell’s Paradise Episode 9: Preview

Episode 9 is undoubtedly one of the most awaited episodes. To tease us further, a preview of Episode 9 was posted on Twitter.

Hell’s Paradise’s much-anticipated ninth episode will now air on June 3rd, 2023 at 11:30 PM JST. The episode was originally supposed to run on May 27, however owing to the concurrent World Table Tennis Championship, it was delayed.

As soon as the preview was dropped, there have been speculations about what is going to happen in this episode. But before we dive into this teaser let’s have a recap of Hell’s Paradise Episode 8:

• Tenza remembers his early years as a homeless kid before Yamada Asaemon Shion took him in as a student. He was the teacher who recognized his talent.
• As Tenza and Nurugai continue to circle the island, an androgynous Tensen, Zhu Jin interrupts them and dismisses Tenza with ease. Tenza cuts Tensen’s head off with his speed, but Tensen regenerates and continues to chase them. The blind yet seasoned Shion temporarily saves them by decapitating the Tensen.
• Shion is suddenly struck in the throat by the Tensen again, and as Tenza counterattacks with his sword, he is fatally wounded. Tenza tackles the Tensen with his bare hands in a last-ditch effort to save Shion and Nurugai, risking his life so that they can flee.

Hell’s Paradise Episode 9: Who will win between Zhu Jin and Gabimaru in Hell’s Paradise Episode 9?

Episode 9 carries off from where Episode 7 of Hell’s Paradise: Flowers and Sacrifices is finished. While the previous episode was a skip for Gabimaru’s timeline. In the last few minutes of Episode 7 of Hell’s Paradise Gabimaru is seen taking a bath during which he remembers how his wife used to wash the scars on his back. This makes him realize his priority of finding the elixir of life to bring his wife back. Now cut to the Hell’s Paradise Episode 9 preview:

• Gabimaru is seen standing in fog with plenty of immobile trees.
• Later, the scene dwells into Gabimaru being shocked as he senses the presence of someone.
• Gabimaru notices the Tense, Zhu Jin who just killed Tenza in episode 8 of Hell’s Paradise.
• As the scene progresses both of them are seen fighting head to head, although no outcome of the fight is shown, Gabimaru seems to have a hard time against the regenerative capabilities of the Tenza.
• The preview ends with a meeting of rules, where Tensen is seen giving an important piece of information to others. We expect this to be information about the fight between Zhu Jin and Gabimaru and Gabimaru emerging victorious. Also, this might explain the tense look on the face of Tensen.

What happens in the manga at this stage? 

The episode 9 preview hints at the adaptation of chapters 22-26 in the manga. In the manga, these chapters have an intense fight between Gabimaru and Zhu Jin where both are surprised by the fighting capabilities of each other.
