Are you struggling to earn the “Finishing Touches” achievement/trophy in Hogwarts Legacy? Fear not, as we’ve got you covered with some insider tips! While the description of the challenge may seem simple, using Ancient Magic on every enemy in the game can be a real challenge. To make matters worse, the game doesn’t record individual enemy progress, making it even more difficult to keep track of your progress.
Hogwarts Legacy: Finishing Touches – How to Unlock
Fortunately, we’ve compiled a list of the enemies that are easy to miss and where to find them, so you can finally achieve this elusive trophy. Keep in mind that you can use Ancient Magic on each enemy type just once, and you don’t necessarily have to defeat them using this technique.
Unlock Ancient Magic Ability in Hogwarts Legacy
To start, head to Hogsmeade and unlock the Ancient Magic ability. You can then farm Ancient Magic by doing combos on Inferius enemies, who are vulnerable only to fire (Make sure you cast Fire Spells first before defeating them). Don’t forget to collect the blue pieces that fly off them to keep your meter up!

Poacher Animagus Human and Animal Form – Location
Don’t forget to use Ancient Magic on both the Poacher Animagus human form and animal form. You can find these enemies in the northern part of the world map by looking for camps. We suggest focusing on the animal form first, as they can be finicky with transforming.
Regular Mongrels – Location
You will typically encounter “Dark Mongrels” in most areas and finding the regular Mongrels can be a challenge. You can find them in the northeastern part of the world map, often located in bandit/poacher camps. Avoid the Forbidden Forest on the west as it mostly contains Dark Mongrels.
River Trolls – Location
Lastly, River Trolls are the other type of commonly missed troll that you’ll need to take down. These are located close to bodies of water, and can be found in the far northeast corner of the world map.
By using Ancient Magic on every enemy in Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll finally earn the “Finishing Touches” achievement/trophy. With these locations in tow, it’ll be a breeze to tick off each enemy on your list!
