The Gate of the Vanquished is a side mission in Horizon Forbidden West that becomes available once players have completed the Tenakth’s Desert Clan quests “Thirst for the Hunt” and “The Wound in the Sand.” It’s a pretty straightforward side mission vs the ones that came before it. However, players will have to make a major decision before they can accomplish it. You will be given options if you would want to side with Yarra or Drakka. Who will you choose?
Yarra wants Drakka imprisoned for endangering Scalding Spear’s water supply.
While Drakka wants to dethrone Yarra to cease her lies and awful leadership. After previously assisting both parties in the build-up to this moment, Aloy finds herself in the center of the two’s dispute. She will have to choose between the two in the end.

Speak with Jetakka once you arrive at the Gate. Jetakka seems eager to resolve the situation without bloodshed or violence.
You will be given options if you would want to talk directly with Yarra and Drakka or simply choose a side. You can’t really NOT choose a side so eventually, Aloy must pick between Yarra or Drakka.
Speaking with both parties, Aloy’s pleadings fall on deaf ears, and will be forced to choose between Yarra and Drakka once more. Neither is the superior option, which might make things harder at first appearance.

Horizon Forbidden West players can just choose the side they like best without worrying about the potential consequences. This is because it doesn’t matter who they choose to side with.
You’ll form a team with the person you choose.
After which, a short skirmish will commence. The victor of this short combat will either kill Yarra or kill Drakka. The winner will become the chief of the Tenakth’s Desert Clan.
The Firestorm Warrior Bow, one of the best bows in the game, will then be unlocked, as well as the “Chose a Desert Commander” trophy.
A little later in the game, the survivor will give you an Errand. Regardless of who sits on the Scalding Spear throne, the content and dialogue in “Burden of Command” remain the same. The decision is essentially a matter of personal preference, with no real repercussions other than who you will be the leader of the clan.
