When you first start playing Honor of Kings, it will ask you to choose a hero class from a pool of 5. All of them belong to a different hero class, and the playstyle around them is different. But how do you choose which one suits you the best? Don’t worry, let’s deep dive into this guide and find the hero class best suited for you in Honor of King.
The Honor of Kings Hero Class:
There are 6 different classes, namely Marksman, Mage, Support, Tank, Warrior, and Assassin. Most of the heroes are classified among these categories, but with an exception of a few who might belong to two.
Marksman:

Often referred to as ADC, Marksman are ranged heroes which mostly depend on attack damage and basic attacks. They are played in the farm lane.
- They are often the priority target, due to their low mobility but high damage output.
- They are relatively weak early game and need a lot of farm. Albeit, they make up for this slow start by turning into a beast and dishing massive damage in the mid or late-game.
- They aren’t complex to play, but you have to be careful about your positioning at all times.
Mage:

As the name would suggest Mages are heroes that are dependent on magic damage and using skills rather than auto-attacks. They are generally played in the middle lane and they usually offer crowd-control abilities.
- Mages are low HP but are more mobile than Marksman. They mostly have crowd-control abilities which come in handy during tough situations.
- Mages scale slowly but are not as farm hungry as Marksman are.
- They can be complex to play, as your main source of damage will be your abilities and you cannot afford to miss them.
Assassin:

Undoubtedly, the most fun heroes to play are the assassins. They can be both physical or magic damage but they are usually melee. So what separates them from Marksman or Mages? It’s their mobility and their range.
- They often have low health but have high damage with high mobility. Although, they lack in range and hence you need to be careful when to go in and out.
- Their scaling is fast but they fall off the late game as your one-shot capability would wear off.
- They aren’t complex to play, but since they lack HP and range your decision on when to engage is critical.
Warrior:

Warriors are melee characters that are generally balanced with both HP and damage output. They are usually played in the off-lane or jungle. Usually, warriors are used for split pushing and hence you are gonna be by yourself. You are not gonna be as tanky as the tank or fiery as the marksman but you will have enough potential to kill both.
- They can deal decent damage while taking plenty, hence you can jump on the enemy’s backlines for the mage or marksman.
- Warriors generally don’t need a lot of gold, hence you will find yourself useful throughout the game. Of course, if you choose to be.
- They aren’t complex to play but need good decision-making on when to be with or away from the team.
Support:

Behind every bragging ADC, there is unsung support. Supports are usually characters that provide healing, barriers, or crowd control with their abilities.
- They are often responsible for saving their carriers, and if they die you will pretty much feel useless.
- They don’t need a lot of farms, but since they lack health you need to make sure you stay at a distance from the enemy.
- They are generally complex to play as you need to make sure your abilities save the day!
Tanks:
Tanks as the name suggests are the healthiest characters in the game. They have high defense stats, hence you will be taking the hitting. Not just from the enemy, but your team if you lose.
- Tanks are usually the initiator of fights and don’t need as much gold as any other role does.
- Since you are gonna be the healthiest, it will be your job to make sure you take most of the damage.
- They aren’t complex to play with, but you need to babysit your carries most of the time to save them.

Considering all these factors, depending on how your gameplay resonates with the character in the game you can choose a class. Although, remember all the hero classes in Honor of Kings are equally important as no one role has the potential to guide you alone to the victory against an all-round time.
- If you are someone who loves to be on the backline and deal high damage, mages, and marksman are best suited for you.
- If you love to dive into enemies and are not scared of them, warriors and assassins are favorable for you.
- If you love saving your allies, tanks, and support are the best for you.
