In Hogwarts Legacy, it’s important to know where to find and how to breed a Graphorn of your own. The Graphorn is a stunning magical creature that you must first defeat in a battle in order to capture it. The rare mythical beast can be found only in a single den, and you get to spawn only one at a time.
In the southernmost point of the map, you can find the only Graphorn Den available in the game. However, reaching the Den doesn’t mean that you will automatically find a Graphorn there. And unlike the rarest Phoenix, players can actually breed Graphorns.
Quests before finding Graphorn in Hogwarts Legacy
Since the Graphorns are rare to find and breed in Hogwarts Legacy, players have to complete a majority of the main quests before catching them. In order to make the beast spawn in the Graphorn Den, it is mandatory to complete the fourth and final Trial in the main game – the Lord of the Shore quest.
- This includes the San Bakar’s trial where you have to confront and defeat a Graphorn itself by either attacking or submitting. Defeating the Graphorn in the trial will unlock the ability to catch and mount it.
- Once you meet the main story prerequisite, you can travel using Floo Flame to the Graphorn Den in the region of Clagmar Coast. This is located in the southernmost part of the world’s map.
- Make sure you use the Disillusionment charm while you enter to make sure the Graphorns do not notice you coming. Once they notice, they will start attacking the player.
How to defeat a Graphorn in battle to capture it
The Graphorn is tricky to defeat, and players will have to use different ways to move and attack it. Figure out an attack strategy when you are trying to fight Graphorns in Hogwarts Legacy.
- When you are attacking the Graphorn in battle, make sure you don’t suffer much damage by standing on higher ground so that they cannot reach you. Use spells like Expelliarmus and Diffindo to deal maximum damage on the Graphorn.
- Once its health and energy are depleted, take out your Nab-Sack to capture the Graphorn in one attempt. In Hogwarts Legacy, the Graphorns might seem intimidating during battle but if treated with respect, they will make great allies.
Nurturing and breeding Graphorn in the vivarium
Taking the Graphorn back to the vivarium will give you the opportunity to nurture it. Going back to the same Graphorn den will let you add more of them to your vivarium, but they spawn only one at a time.
- In order to breed the Graphorn, you need one male and one female. So, getting the right pair is crucial as you head to the Den to battle each one and acquire it. Make sure you complete other main and side quests as you wait for more of them to spawn.
- After getting both male and female Graphorns, you can breed them in the vivarium to create more off springs.
