Alright, if you haven’t finished the game just yet, then we hope you won’t come here right away. This guide may contain spoilers so you may want to read it at your own risk. The earlier God of War has its end scene, so if you’re wondering where it is in the 2022 game release, then we can walk you through it. Or maybe we can simply word it as the Secret Ending of God of War: Ragnarok, and here’s how you can unlock it AKA A Viking’s Funeral Favor.
God of War: Ragnarok’s Secret Ending
Have you finished the main story quest of GoW: Ragnarok? You may have seen that Ragnarok is over, but Freya and Mimir mention their unfinished businesses in the Nine Realms. If you did finish the main story quest, a completion mark of The Realms at War appears. This should be after the earlier conversation between the three characters.
- A lift may be seen in the area so you may head down there. On the way down, Mimir mentions a funeral service to be held for Brok. He wishes to go there at Raeb’s Tavern in Svartalfheim.
A Viking’s Funeral Favor
- Now you have to trigger a Favor to find the Secret Ending of God of War: Ragnarok. You may want to head to Lunda at the Shop and interact with the Dwarf. Lunda invites you to Svartalfheim, and then you can see the Favor triggered.
- Once the Favor is unlocked, you may head straight to Svartalfheim, specifically in Nidavellir. Just follow the winding path until you reach Raeb’s Tavern. Before entering, you can hear the dialogue of the characters inside. When you head in, you can see Raeb, Durlin, and Lunda gathered and talking about Brok.
- Once you stay a little longer in the tavern, you may be prompted to interact with Brok’s body wherein Kratos bids goodbye to his Dwarf friend. Afterward, the Dwarves tell you about the send-off at the Sverd Sands in the Aurvangar Wetlands.
Head to Aurvangar Wetlands
- Head to the Aurvangar Wetlands to attend the send-off of Brok in Sverd Sands. You’ll need to ride a ferry with your Companion to reach the sands. Once you reach the end of the ferry, you can see the Dwarves waiting on the sands.
- You can stay and watch the funeral, after a while Durlin states that they should begin. Kratos should be the one carrying Brok’s corpse over to the boat for the send-off. We truly are devastated by Brok’s death, he’s one of our favorite characters in the game.
- Going back, the final cutscene continues with Brok’s funeral. Everyone pays their respect and bids their farewell to Brok before they set him offshore on the boat. After the funeral, the credits of the God of War: Ragnarok should start rolling.
- A Viking’s Funeral Favor automatically marks complete after the whole funeral service. You may have the chance to talk to the other Dwarves in the area. Sindri leaves the Sverd Sands earlier than others, so you can only talk to Lunda, Raeb, and Durlin.
That’s it, warriors, you found God of War: Ragnarok’s Secret Ending!
