In Genshin Impact 2.6, new achievements dropped alongside the launch of one of the most anticipated locations: The Chasm. One of the hidden achievements in the new update is the Nine Word Rumor. This can be obtained by interacting with all Abyssal Writings. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to get this achievement in Genshin Impact.
How to get The Nine Word Rumor achievement
Getting this achievement requires travelers to enter The Chasm: Underground Mines. As mentioned, this is a hidden achievement so you don’t need to complete prerequisite quests. However, you need to completely light up the map for The Chasm: Underground Mines. This is because the Abyssal Writings are scattered throughout the underground area of The Chasm in Genshin Impact.
There are nine Abyssal Writings you can find across the Underground Mines. However, these writings can only be interacted with in darkness. This means players need to unequip the Lumenstone Adjuvant gadget. If you interact with an Abyssal Writing while this gadget is equipped, it might cause the writing to disappear. If this happens, you will be unable to obtain the hidden achievement.
Abyssal Writings Locations in The Chasm
1. Stony Halls teleport waypoint
Use the teleport waypoint located at the center of the Stony Halls area. Then, jump down and continue southeast. This is easy to locate if you keep an eye out for a Hilichurl digging at a pile of rocks.
You can avoid interacting with the Hilichurl altogether and observe the writing on the broken piece of a stone arch. Remember to unequip your Lumenstone Adjuvant gadget to avoid making the writings disappear.
2-3. Stony Halls south teleport waypoint
For this location, travelers can observe two Abyssal Writings. To do so, teleport to the waypoint located south of the Stony Halls area. Then, make your way southwest. Keep going southwest until you find yourself at some ruins. Begin climbing the ruins and you will find the writing on the wall.
Before you leave the area, look around and you will see a hole in the floor at the middle. Jump down to find the second Abyssal Writing located below and interact with it.

4. North of Nameless Ruins
Use the upside-down waypoint located near the Nameless Ruins. Then, begin heading north where you will find a Ruin Grader. The Abyssal Writing is located above the area where the Ruin Grader is roaming.
5-6. Underground Waterway
To find the next two Abyssal Writings, use the teleport waypoint southwest of the Underground Waterway. Proceed southwest while following the broken bridge. When you are at the ruins, make your way to the other side of the walls where you can find the Abyssal Writing for this area.
For the second writing in this area, head south where you will find a broken staircase.
Then, jump down where you’ll find a time-trial challenge. The Abyssal Writing is found on the wall near this.
7. East of the blue pillar
Use the teleport waypoint shown on the map and head southeast. Keep following the path and you’ll find the Abyssal Writing on your right.
8. South of the blue pillar
For this location, use the waypoint located at the south of the blue pillar. Then, start traveling southwest. You will be gliding the whole time but it won’t empty your stamina bar. You can see the Abyssal Writing glowing on the wall of an area with dark mud surrounding the ground.
9. Northeastern part of the map
The writing can be found in the location marked on the map below. Teleport to the waypoint north of the Main Mining Area.
Then, head north and move past the Treasure Hoarder camp if you don’t want to fight with them. However, you can only reach this area by clearing the purple wall along the way. To do so, your Lumnestone Adjuvant gadget should be at Lvl. 6. Don’t forget to unequip it before interacting with the Abyssal Writing.
Moreover, there are two Abyss Mages that will spawn as soon as you get near the wall. Then, you’ll finally get the hidden achievement ‘The Nine-Word Rumor.’
