Dehya is the latest playable character in patch 3.5 of Genshin Impact and she has divided the community since her release. This is because she has been constantly compared to Xinyan due to the mixed scaling of her ultimate ability and elemental skill. Despite the backlash, there are a lot of players who have pulled for her as she has an extremely sweet personality.Â
It is recommended that beginners do not pull for Dehya as she cannot fulfill the role of a proper Pyro DPS. In the case of long-standing players, she can be extremely fun to play with a damage build, while being the spot-holder for the first-ever tank in the game. Her dual-ability scaling on both attack and HP percentage is a challenge to build around. Follow along as this guide explores ways to optimize her build to get the most out of her Teyvat escapades in Genshin Impact.Â
How to maximize Dehya’s capabilities in Genshin Impact
There are no dedicated artifact sets for Dehya in Genshin Impact as of yet. However, some of the existing options work great on her, depending on team compositions. Meanwhile, she does have a lot of free-to-play weapon choices, which makes it easier to build her up.Â
A look at the best weapons for Dehya in Genshin Impact

The Beacon of the Reed Sea is undoubtedly the best weapon for her given that it is the signature Claymore. It is made for her DPS build as it dictates consistent damage output with a healthy sub-stat of 33.1% crit rate at level 90.
The passive increases her attack by 20% when her elemental skill hits an opponent and 20% more when the wielder takes damage. Deploying her without a shield increases her HP by 32%, further amplifying her damage.Â

The Bell is currently the only Claymore in Genshin Impact that provides HP percentage from its sub-stat. Dehya can use the weapon to its maximum capability to become the ultimate tank in the game. Her Molten inferno ability grants a percentage of damage mitigation to the active character within the Fiery Sanctum. The percentage is based on her max HP, which is boosted by equipping the weapon. Â
Here are some of the alternate weapons for Tank and DPS Dehya builds:Â
- Favonius Greatsword: This is obtainable from gacha and is important for energy recharge and burst uptime.
- Akuoumaru: This is obtainable from gacha and increases her elemental burst damage.
- Luxurious Sea-Lord: This is an event-exclusive pick and can be used for burst DPS.
- Bloodtainted Greatsword: This is a 3-star gacha weapon that boosts EM in a Burgeon Dehya Build.
- Wolf’s Gravestone: This is a standard banner 5-star weapon and is used for increasing her base attack.
Best artifact sets for DehyaÂ
As most of her damage comes from her elemental burst, the Emblem of Severed Fate artifact set is a flat-out buff to her attack. The four-piece set bonus grants up to 75% extra damage based on the equipping character’s energy recharge. This set is optimal with an energy recharge weapon, making it quintessential for DPS build.Â

Most players prefer Dehya build for the role of a Tank or Support. The two-piece bonus of the Tenacity of the Millelith set increases her HP by 20%, improving her damage mitigation.
On top of that, the four-piece grants nearby party members a 20% attack boost when her elemental skill hits the enemy. It stays on the field for 12 seconds to utilize the set bonus effectively.

Some of the alternate artifact options include:
- The Guilded DreamsÂ
- The Flower of Paradise Lost (Best in the slot for Burgeon)
- The Crimson Witch of Flames (Alternate damage Dehya build)
Best team compositions for Dehya in Genshin ImpactÂ
Dehya can fulfill the role of Zhongli in most Genshin Impact team compositions. She is an excellent Tank that offers stagger-resistance and damage-mitigation to characters within her Fiery Sanctum field. Some of her unique DPS line-ups are mentioned below.
1) Mono Pyro team

Dehya can excel in a mono Pyro team with Bennett, Xiangling, and Kazuha in the party. Bennett boosts her attack, while Kazuha buffs her elemental damage and reduces the enemy’s Pyro resistance. Xiangling is important for the off-field Pyro damage, making the team extremely fun to play with.Â
2) Burgeon team

Dehya is a great replacement for Thoma in the Burgeon team, which includes Nahida, Xingqiu, and Kokomi. Her periodic elemental proc from her Molten Inferno skill allows for the transformative reaction.Â
3) Vaporize team

Dehya cannot vaporize with Xingqiu or Yelan, but any off-field Hydro applicator such as Ayato’s burst or Kokomi’s Kurage’s Oath allows the reaction with her. The team should have a Bennet and Kazuha for buffing the vape damage in the grand scheme of things.Â
Given the current meta in Genshin Impact, the tailed female eremite has enabled room for Tanks in the game. Dehya does bring a lot of fun elements to the table and she will be added to the standard banner as the second Pyro character in the gang.
