While journeying through the Lands Between, you will have to clear out Legacy Dungeons. One of these is the Academy of Raya Lucaria. In this guide, we will talk about how to unlock, clear out, and obtain rewards from the Academy of Raya Lucaria in Elden Ring.
What is the Academy of Raya Lucaria in Elden Ring?
This location can be found at the center of the Liurnia Lakes. What makes this area important is this is where you can find Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon. But before you can get to her, you need to clear out this Legacy Dungeon first.
Make sure that you have the Academy Glintstone Key as well before journeying to the Academy of Raya Lucaria. With the Academy Glintstone Key, you will be able to unlock the barrier surrounding the Academy of Raya Lucaria.
Remember to sweep every area you encounter in the Academy of Raya Lucaria for any loot you can get.
How to get the Academy Glintstone Key
First Key
To get the first key, make your way over to the Academy of Raya Lucaria until you reach the South Raya Lucaria Gate. When you first get there, the magical seal is still intact and can only be broken with the Glintstone Key. But don’t leave the area yet. Instead, go to the left of the gate where you can find a corpse. Loot it and you’ll get the Meeting Place map.
This map will show you directions west of the south gate. Follow this and you’ll end up at an area guarded by a Glintstone Dragon Smarag. However, you don’t have to battle the dragon if you just want to get the Glintstone Key.
Use a Torrent to distract it or quickly dash behind it where you’ll find another corpse leaning against the wall. Loot the body to get the Academic Glintstone Key and either run away or teleport to the Site of Grace near the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Finally, you can undo the seal surrounding the area. But before you start exploring further into the Academy of Raya Lucaria, make sure to activate the Site of Grace you encounter inside.

Second Key
As for the second Glintstone Key, you can get this after successfully unlocking the seal surrounding the Academy of Raya Lucaria. To do so, you will need to defeat the Red Wolf of Radagon, a mid-boss you will encounter as you journey into the Academy.
After defeating this mid-boss, go outside the Church of the Cuckoo and turn left. You can then climb the stairs and rubble and make your way along the rooftops in the courtyard. Then, you’ll find yourself at the Church of the Cuckoo’s upper levels.
Enter the Church again through an open window and find the chandelier where a corpse is hanging from. You can finally grab the second Glintstone Key which you can give to a sorcerer named Thops.
This is essential for players wanting to complete their questline. If you haven’t unlocked this quest yet, you can find him at the Church of Irith. Once you give Thops the Academy Glintstone Key, teleport to the Schoolhouse Classroom Site of Grace and proceed outside. There, you will find Thops’ dead body in a chair which you can loot. You will get a Bell-Bearing, Thops’ Barrier Spell, and a Glintstone Staff.
Entering the Academy of Raya Lucaria
After unlocking the Site of Grace, go to your right and have the elevator take you up. Then, ascend the staircase where there are two enemies waiting for you. These enemies will continuously cast tracking spells so we advise players to quickly block or dodge these attacks.
After defeating them, you will find yourself in a church with two more enemies. Take them out first before going through the passage on your left. Turn left again to find another Site of Grace you can activate.
Afterward, you can head back to the hallway and make your way down the other end. You’ll exit the building where there are enemies that can drain your FP if they successfully grab you. Make your way through the area and get across the wooden bridge.
Once you defeat the enemies waiting for you on the other side, make your way onto the path at your right. Go through the passageway and you’ll find yourself in front of a water wheel. To progress through this area, use the platforms to head to the top. once you’re there, you will find another Site of Grace. Activate this and prepare for a battle ahead.
Defeat Red Wolf of Radagon
The Red Wolf of Radagon was mentioned earlier. After defeating him, you can get the second Academy Glintstone Key. Before you encounter him, you will need to defeat a lot of enemies up ahead. Then, you can fight against Red Wolf of Radagon and get the second Academy Glintstone Key.
Continue onto the courtyard
After you defeat the Red Wolf of Radagon, you will be greeted with a courtyard with a broken staircase off to the right. Head on over to the staircase and jump over it.
But be careful because as soon as you jump over the staircase, a boulder will roll down the steps. Time your dodge to avoid getting damaged by the object.
Defeat Moongrum, Carian Knight
Once you reach the top of the staircase, an NPC invader will spawn at the small courtyard. Defeat Moongrum, Carian Knight to get the Carian Knight’s Shield.
After finishing him off, head left and unlock the door you see.
This opens up a shortcut back to the courtyard you were just in. Use the nearby Site of Grace to spend your Runes on any upgrade you might need for the main boss battle at this location.
Fight against Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon
Then, you can go through the shortcut again and use the elevator to get up. Behind the doors in front of you is Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon. Make sure you’re well-equipped before heading inside because this is a tough boss battle.
