Genshin Impact has an amazing catalog of Japanese voice actors. Among many, one that particularly stands out is none other than Rie Takahashi, the voice of Hu Tao. On February 25, she shared an infographic through her Twitter account, offering some bathing advice that fans should follow before attending a convention. The post grabbed the attention of her followers, as it was intended to.
Rie Takahashi is extremely popular with her fans due to her friendly nature and more so because of her talent. The tweet surrounding the discussion showcases the open-minded nature that her followers love. Here is what happened over Hu Tao VA’s tweet.
Genshin Impact Hu Tao VA Rie Takahashi shares infographic, asks fans to bathe before her live performance
Rie Takahashi is an amazing voice actress and singer. She had her first live concert in Japan on February 26th, 2023. Just a day before her performance, she tweeted the following:

It contained things that people should do before a concert or a convention, mostly focusing on the aspect of hygiene. There are key pointers summarizing fans to carry their mask, hall tickets, wallets, and more. Now, it should be noted that she has a fair amount of anime convention experience to talk about relevant problems. On the right-hand side, there is an image of a man bathing with soap and shampoo, which captured maximum attention.
Rie Takahashi translated a common problem from her meet-and-greet experiences, which is visitors’ body odor. It is a fairly common issue in games and anime conventions as heat and humidity keep circulating inside closed spaces that are filled with crowds. Through the image, she suggested her fans maintain themselves before coming to her live performance.
Fans react to Rie Takahashi’s tweet

Rie Takahashi has an incredible fanbase from Genshin Impact and even more from anime. Some of her popular VA work includes Emilia from Re: Zero – Starting Life in Another World, Megumin from KonoSuba, and Takagi San from Karakai Jouzu no Takagi San.
I would be so embarrassed to go to some place public smelling like funk. I'm not about to be rude and inconvenient others. If I even had a arm cast that smelled funky I would stay home. If I was handicapped n couldn't wash then I'd ask a family member to help as much as possible.

Her fans are aware of her openness and down-to-earth nature. Moreover, they understood the hilarious remark hidden behind the infographic. She had no intention to humiliate her followers and it was just a part of her friendly attitude that people admire her for.
Gross, how disgusting that some people need to be told to wash/bath themselves. Ewwwwww

While most people had a positive opinion of her tweet, few took it a little personally. Their reactions are also valid as personal hygiene is a very sensitive topic. However, Genshin Impact Hu Tao VA’s main goal was to make everyone’s experience at the event better, which is an admirable request.
