Yesterday, miHoYo announced some exciting news for fans and players, revealing two powerful playable characters. Yun Jin and Shenhe will be part of a future update, adding to the roster of characters in Genshin Impact.
The 2.3 Update, which is set to release tomorrow will bring two Geo characters, Gorou and Arataki Itto. Itto is already popular among the fans, a demonic gang leader. Gorou wields a bow as a fox-like warrior. However, the more exciting news has been the announcement of Yun Jin and Shenhe.
Who is Yun Jin?
- Yun Jin is the director of Yun-Han Opera Troupe, a popular figure at the Liyue Harbor’s opera world. She is a prestigious singer, dancer, and brewer according to Genshin lore. She is also said to work at Heyu Tea House.
- While it had been rumored that she would be the first Dendro or even an Anemo, she was revealed to be using the Geo element.
- Yun Jin will wield a polearm, while it is expected that her musical skills will have a role to play in combat as well as out of it. It is expected that she will be a 4-star character.

Who is Shenhe?
- Shenhe is expected to be a 5-star character, and also one of the strongest DPS characters in Genshin. She is described as an “Ethereal Soul Amidst the Mortal Realm”.
- A student of Cloud Retainer, she comes from a family of exorcists. Shenhe will also wield a polearm in combat. She has quickly become a fan-favorite on social media, and players are waiting to step into her shoes.

miHoYo has not revealed a date for the release of Yun Jin and Shenhe, but it is expected to be during the Genshin Impact 2.4 Update. Both the characters are expected to be part of the same banner.
