With the introduction of Inazuma, a lot of new quests, characters and regions have been added in Genshin Impact. Players are facing some difficulties in coping up with so many additions and changes, but you have nothing to worry as we have it all covered. This guide is for players stuck in the “A Strange Story of Konda” quest, and we hope after this, you’ll be able to move forward in the game.
Objective – Ask Locals For Information
A Strange Story of Konda is a particularly lengthy quest which demands a lot of time and effort. In this quest players’ task is to uncover the mysterious events occurring near Konda village. While progressing with this quest, there are several objectives which you need to fulfill, and some of them might be quite confusing for many players. One of such objectives, which is tricky and confusing, is to “Ask the locals for information.”
Again, fret not, as this guide would help you get through it and tell you exactly what to do for fulfillment of this, rather strange, objective.
Here’s How It’s Done
To complete the objective efficiently and saving a lot of your time in the process, just follow the given steps:
- Interact with the Shrine maiden north of Konda village
- Travel to the village
- You have to now collect three clues
- Interview the villagers
This sounds easy, doesn’t it? But the problem lies in interviewing the villagers. Konda is filled with people, and you just need three clues. This means there are only three particular villagers you need to interact with, and we’ll tell you exactly whom, so that you don’t waste time interacting with useless NPCs. Here’s who you need to find:

Futuba
You need to find a little girl named Futuba and she’ll be the first NPC you need to interact with. You can find her immediately upon entering the town from the north. You’ll see her standing beside the canal that runs through the village. She will inform you of a bag she noticed in the river to the southeast of the village.

Saimon Eri
Next you need to find and speak with an old woman called Saimon Eri. She can be a bit tricky to locate but again, what are we here for? You can find her to the east of the village hidden next to some tomato plants. She will provide you a clue and ask you to investigate the well behind the Konda Chief’s house.

Takeru
The last villager you need to find and interact with is a small boy called Takeru. He is the most difficult NPC to find, and many players might miss him, so pay attention. Unlike most characters, you can find Takeru on the roof of a house in the southeast of the village. He will provide you your final clue which would be to investigate a broken cart to the north of the village.
So, here’s how you need to interact with the villagers. After you interact with all three of them and gather all three clues, find the evidence where these 3 NPC’s guide you. Upon collecting the evidence, present it to the village chief.
After this you will be tasked with finding the key required to unlock the well behind the Chief’s house. You will receive a reward of 350 Adventure XP, 40 Primogems, and 20,000 Mora after solving the barrier puzzle inside the well. Then you’ll move forward to the next quest “Cleansing Defilement”, parts of which, we have covered in our other guides.
