Genshin Impact 2.7 Update Is Officially Delayed

Genshin Impact - Yelan

Genshin Impact regularly updates its game and follows a six-week cycle. HoYoverse was consistent with bringing new content to the game since its release. However, an official announcement from Genshin Impact revealed that the 2.7 update will be delayed.

Genshin Impact initially delayed only the Livestream for version 2.7

Travelers asked for updates on the 2.7 Livestream in the comments section on Facebook and Bilibili. This is because the 2.7 Special Program should have premiered on April 29, 2022. Moreover, Travelers expected version 2.7 to come in May.

At first, they only announced the delay for the special program. Travelers felt disappointed with how HoYoverse chose to announce the delays in the livestream. Instead of officially announcing it through a post, they chose to do it through the comments section.

But in a recent announcement, it seems they are delaying version 2.7 altogether.

Genshin Impact officially delays the version 2.7 update  “due to project progress”

Genshin Impact’s official channels finally announced they are delaying version 2.7. In a short tweet, they asked Travelers to stay tuned for any future announcements. But the announcement left Travelers feeling unsatisfied. So what exactly could be the reason why Genshin Impact is delaying version 2.7?

Shanghai is still under a strict COVID lockdown

Genshin Impact may be behind project progress because of the current situation in Shanghai, China. The government placed the city under lockdown after COVID cases spiked. Moreover, HoYoverse does their development on games in-house at their China HQ. So with that in mind, most of the Genshin Impact community are concerned about the welfare of HoYoverse employees.

Genshin Impact 2.7 is supposed to officially introduce Yelan and Kuki Shinobu to the game. However, it looks like we’ll have to wait a while longer for the COVID situation in China to settle down. Nonetheless, we are still praying for the welfare and safety of all those affected by the situation in Shanghai, China.
