GameStop Reportedly Cancelling Cyberpunk 2077 Collector’s Edition Pre Orders

Update :- Seems like multiple users are facing the issue and GameStop has reverted on the issue. We’ll update the article as we come to know more about the same

Cyberpunk 2077 has been one of the most sought upcoming games this year. The Collector’s Edition of the game had been in much demand and got old out in moments after going up for pre-order. However, there is some bad news for the fans who pre-ordered the game via Gamestop.

A thread on Resetera reports multiple users’ pre-order of the Collector’s Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 being canceled. A user also reported his Death Stranding CE not showing up on his order history as well. Whether this is just a mere bug, or the pre-orders are actually cancelled is something still unknown. However, this is not the first time something like this is happening as far as GameStop is concerned.

Earlier, GameStop had canceled multiple Kingdom Hearts 3 Limited Edition PS4 Pro pre-orders stating that they had oversold them. Later on, not a single limited edition PS4 Pro made its way to the store, and eventually, no one got it, as the below tweet says. While GameStop offered compensation for the mishap, this is still not justified given the fact that users could have opted for a different outlet if they were aware of it. We are still awaiting a response from GameStop on this.

  1. So you claim Cyberpunk 2077 pre-orders are being cancalled, link to a forum as proof, yet not a single person in there says their order for Cyberpunk 2077 was cancelled.

    1. Multiple users in the forums reported their pre orders weren’t showing in the website or the app. We confirmed the same from our end as well. Nonetheless, we added GameSpot’s response about the same.

  2. It’d be really cool if we could kickstart another run of CEs, they were already sold out everywhere before I could put a deposit down. Not through kickstarter, but like “X number of people are willing to give us money in advance to do another run, thus financially justifying another run”.

I really want that statue, and I would rather give CDPR the money than buy it 2nd hand or something like that.
