What is the Lightning Cup?
Formats of the new tournament mode

"Best Of" – Your best 5 matches out of 7 will be the only matches that count towards the Leaderboard.
"High Score" – Your best match in 2 hours will be the only match that counts towards the Leaderboard.

Players can expect new formats to be introduced in the Lightning Cup. The two formats, “Best Of” and “High Score” are new concepts to competitive Fortnite. Their Twitter account broke the concepts down and what it essentially means is the number of eliminations are significant.
- “Best Of” – Your best 5 matches out of 7 will be the only matches that count towards the Leaderboard.
- “High Score” – Your best match in 2 hours will be the only match that counts towards the Leaderboard.
So teams can secure a spot on the Leaderboard, they must get a Victory Royale and a good amount of eliminations. Therefore, it’s safe to assume that matches in this competition will be intense and grueling for the participants.
